Reading the biblical message about the creation of woman allows us to draw a conclusion that God gave a very particular vocation to a woman, the vocation to love. It is the primeval vocation, the most important one, which has precedence over other callings, such as a vocation to biological and spiritual motherhood. The female ability to love is well summed up by John Paul II as a “female genius”. This “genius” is the foundation of mature fulfillment of such fundamental roles as that of wife, mother or consecrated person. The author looks for the answers to such questions as: who is a woman? What is the essence of her genius? What conditions must be met in order to make love the governing principle and spiritual strength for a woman and her greatest passion so that she is able and wants to realize God’s objective to restore full dignity and humanity to mankind.
