The article presents the complex of Batu Caves which is on the one hand, one of the most recognizable religious centres of Hinduism in the area of Muslim Malaysia, annually visited by thousands of pilgrims within Holy Thaipusam festival, and, on the  other hand, the complex of caves popular with tourist and willingly visited. The author presents both the character and specific custom elements of this popular festival and discusses the advantages of caves as formation of inanimate nature available to tourism.

Tourist and religious potential of the Philippine archipelagoThe paper discusses the geographic distribution of the most important centers of religious worship ( Marian shrines, sanctuaries of the Lord, sites of religious festivals, Passion Plays ) in the Philippines, presenting the issue against the background of a diverse mosaic of language, ethnicity and religion ( mainly Christianity and Islam ). The primary purpose of the paper is to describe the significant religious and tourist potential of the Philippines. The statistical data used in the paper were obtained from the World Tourism Organization ( UNWTO ), materials obtained from an internet query, and the available research literature on religious tourism in the Far East. Much information came from direct observation and material collected during a research stay in the Philippines in 2010. The authors place particular emphasis on the key characteristics of pilgrimage centers of the Roman Catholic religion – the dominant religion in the Philippines. The data show the most important sites and religion-oriented buildings such as churches and sacred figures as well as their importance to pilgrims. The paper also focuses on to the importance of pilgrimage centers of different religious denominations

Publikacja przedstawia rozmieszczenie gabinetów odnowy biologicznej w granicach miasta Tarnowa oraz zróżnicowanie oferty ich zabiegów (m.in. masaże, sauna, groty solne, hydroterapia, solaria). Na wybranych przykładach omawia też wady i zalety korzystania z nich na tle ogólnych zasad właściwego stosowania środków odnowy biologicznej. Zasadnicze wnioski, wynikające z pracy to stwierdzenie, iż w końcu 2008 r. działało w Tarnowie 56 obiektów oferujących zabiegi odnowy biologicznej. Z tej liczby 18 ośrodków oferowało masaż leczniczy, 7 saunę, 2 korzystanie z grot solnych oraz 30 z solarium, a w 12 ośrodkach można było skorzystać z zabiegów fizykoterapeutycznych, takich jak: światłolecznictwo, elektroterapia, ultradźwięki, magnetoterapia i laseroterapia. Punkty zabiegowe rozmieszczone są głównie w centrum miasta, a dzielnice peryferyjne mają zdecydowanie słabszą ofertę.

The paper presents the location of health and fitness centers in Tarnow and the diversity of their offers (e.g. massages, sauna, salt caves, hydrotherapy, solaria). It also describes their benefits and flaws on beneficiaries regarding the main rules of the connected use of health and fitness means. The conclusion shows that until the year 2008 in Tarnow there had been 56 active fitness and health centers. The number included 18 centers offering curative massages, 7 - sauna centers, 2 - salt caves, 30 - solaria and 12 - physiotherapy rooms as: phototherapy, electrotherapy, ultrasounds, magneto therapy and laser therapy. The centers are mainly located in the city center and inhabitants of peripheral quarters have a less attractive offer.
