In any democratic system it is the efficiency of the party, which influences selection of the political actors. The article focuses on the role the party plays in the context of influencing behavior of its members. The political party fulfils two functions: educational and selective. The author makes an attempt at describing the relations between the psychological features of an human, its milieu and the character of party institutions. Departing from associations between the human psyche and the political structures, which aim at creation of certain behavior dominating in a group focused on the political career, the author makes an analysis of the emerging leaders. His interest however, refers mainly to the mechanisms responsible for making institution and the politician. In any democratic society, writes the author, the political party is formed on the basis of many consolidation centers. It has been described by the existing self-organization theories. The basic activity of the party in the process of the struggle for power is concentrated on the process of exercising power and on effective influence on constituency. In recent Polish history we have had an unique chance to watch the emerging of the political parties. The author searches for a paradigm, which could help observer of the political scene to understand the mechanism of the politics.
