The article deals with problems connected with establishment of joint ventures. Numerous such ventures wero set up with participation of capital from the capitalist states. These companies are located in Bulgaria and Hungary. Apart from them, there also operate companies being join4 ventures founded by the socialist cou n - tries alone. Examples of such cooperation may be found in Poland and the Soviet Union. Companies organized along principles of joint ventures aim primarily at fusion of partners' financial and material resources. Joint research and development activity makes it possible to raise the level of production through its specialization and cooperation. The cooperation of this type is considered to be the highest form of intensification of economic integration processes among the CMEA countries adopted so far.
