Celem artykułu opartego na licznych materiałach archiwalnych jest przybliżenie czytelnikom stosunku władz partyjno-państwowych do rozpowszechniania filmów radzieckich w latach najsilniejszego podporzadkowania kina polityce, a także ocena ich wysiłków. Autorka omawia formułowane przez władze zalecenia dotyczące popularyzacji kina radzieckiego oraz stosowane w tym celu różnorodne narzędzia i bodźce. Opisuje też reakcje pracowników kin poddanych wymogom walki o widza toczonej w ramach obowiązującego wówczas współzawodnictwa pracy. Jednym z poruszanych w artykule wątków jest organizacja i przebieg Festiwali Filmów Radzieckich traktowanych przez władze jako okazja do manifestacji „miłości” do Kraju Rad. Autorka prezentuje liczne pomysły racjonalizatorskie prowadzące do wykonania planu zakładającego pożądaną liczbę widzów, sposoby wpływu na ich postawy i wybory; próbuje także ocenić ich skuteczność, nie zawsze zgodną z oczekiwaniami władz.

The purpose of the article based on numerous archival materials is to familiarize readers with the attitude of party-state authorities to the dissemination of Soviet films in the years of the strongest subordination of cinema to politics, as well as an assessment of their efforts. The author discusses the recommendations made by the authorities regarding the popularization of Soviet cinema and the various tools and incentives used for this purpose. She also describes the reactions of cinema employees who were subject to the requirements of the fight for the viewer as part of the competition at work at the time. One of the themes discussed in the article is the organization and conduct of Soviet Film Festivals treated by the authorities as an opportunity to manifest "love" for the Soviet Union. The author presents numerous rationalization ideas leading to the implementation of the plan assuming the desired number of viewers, ways of influencing their attitudes and choices; she is also trying to assess their effectiveness, not always in line with the authorities' expectations.
