Coding and decoding in the mimic expressions of emotions in the conditions of primingAmong the social abilities these concerning coding and decoding mimic expressions are of great significance. High measurements within these skills are interpreted either in biological categories or the ones which go further. Our analyses are involved in the latter direction and they are the attempt to define if and to what extent in the sphere of processing word movements the effects of priming can be observed. The experimental attempt analysed indirectly allows making familiar the nature of representation of mimic expressions gathered in the mind as well as the mechanism of establishing similarities between stimulus entrance and these representations.

Personality as a factor determining value systemThe research presents the empirical data concerning the relation between personal traits and the value system; the study is focused on the empthy and directiveness as personality traits. Theoretical assumption and empirical findings are analyzed and interpreted in context of the cognitive framework, including the idea of regulave function of self-concept. A content compatibility hypothesis between the personality traits and value system was accepted as preliminary assumption for this research.The study group consisted of 325 students. The Empathic Understanding of Others Questionnaire (Węgliński, 1983), Ray Directiveness Skale (Brzozowski, 1997), Rokeach Value Survey (Brzozowski, 1989) were used as reseaech tools.The data analysis revealed that subjects tend to organize their self-knowledge in such a way that there is a content consistency between the information included in the appropriate schemas of personality traits and value preference.
