Recykling a kultura

Marek Kulisz Recycling and Culture - summary The essay is an attempt to analyze the ways in which it may be possible to talk about recycling in culture. Contrary to recycling, the word culture has a long and complicated history, and it is used nowadays in a number of different meanings. Two of these meanings are taken into consideration here. Expressions such as "recycling of culture" and "culture of recycling" will be comprehensible if the word "culture" is used in its broadest sense, i.e. the one in which anthropologists use it when they speak of the nature-culture opposition. In this context recycling is simply part of culture, because - though recycling is modeled on natural phenomena - it is certainly not a natural process; it is a series of carefully planned activities involving state-of-the-art technology. We cannot, however, talk in a sensible way about recycling in culture if we take the word culture in its narrow sense, as the so-called high culture, because culture understood this way does not produce waste. There are no societies that would be willing to dismiss any of their great artists of the past and consider their works of art as waste.

Kamuflaż kontra honor

100%
EN
Marek Kulisz Camouflage versus Honour The idea of camouflage stands in opposition to chivalry, and in particular in opposition to honour and courage. For ages knights and warriors wanted to be seen and recognized, as they could not win fame and glory by hiding and outsmarting their enemy. Surprise attacks carried out from hiding were the domain of highwaymen and other kinds of dishonourable riffraff. The appearance of camouflage, though gradual, marks a change in our civilization's perception of warfare, and perhaps conflict in general, when it became more important to be cunning and efficient rather than honourable and brave.

National defence has a special feature that regulates vital (main) national interests and therefore requires a detailed and transparent law. The body of law creates legal standards that define the relationships between the elements of the defence system of the state. These standards govern the relationship of the system with the environment. All of these relations were defined as the defence law. This paper presents the complexities of the legal rules governing the issue of the defence of a state and indicates the reasons for the negative perception of the defence law. The author emphasizes the dynamics of the law , which evolves with the changes of society. He is referring to the importance of the problem for the correct functioning of the state not only from a legal but also from a social point of view.

Obronność państwa, jako szczególna funkcja normująca żywotne interesy narodowe, wymaga szczegółowego, ale i przejrzystego prawa. Zbiór przepisów tworzących normy prawne, określające relacje pomiędzy poszczególnymi elementami systemu obronnego państwa, a także relacje z otoczeniem, określone zostały mianem prawa obronnego.
