The aim of this paper is to analyze Israeli-Palestinian conflict from the perspective of the ‘necropolitics’ category (term coined by Achille Mbembe). Firstly, author describes mass media coverage of the conflict, especially pro-Israeli bias in the American and British media. Nevertheless, some media representations in the mostly Muslin countries (ieTurkey) are anti-Semitic. Second part is devoted to the realities on the ground in occupied Palestinian territories and the discoursive practices of perceiving violence of both sides: ‘civilized’ Israeli and ‘uncivilised’ Palestinian. In conclusion, there are some considerations about future developments in the conflict.

Svetovid is a Slavic four-headed god, which could be a metaphor of American military-industrial-media complex. Aim of this article is to analyze four main dimensions of mentioned above complex. First, probably the most obvious face of the complex are military interventions abroad, especially after World War II in the Greater Middle East. Second face is a wasteful character of the military spending, inefficiency of the military and corporate bureaucracies. Third element is presence of the militarism in the society, especially in American schools, which becomes vehicles for the army recruitment process. Last face of the military-industrial-media complex is a cultural one, epitomized by the film directed by Clint Eastwood, American sniper. In conclusion author describes some contradictions deeply embedded in American militarism.

The aim of this article is to analyze so-called war on terror from the perspective of the political economy of communication. The author starts with a story about Osama bin Laden's death in Abbottabad (Pakistan), including sometimes shameful reaction on it (a specially in the United States). Then this paper addresses major trends in the TV shows about war on terror – in the American „24” and Polish „Misja Afganistan” („The Afghanistan Mission”). The next part of the article is devoted to a discussion of the phenomenon called WikiLeaks (a non-profit organization that publishes submissions from anonymous whistleblowers) in the context of the „Collateral Murder” video of U.S. Helicopter and „Cablegate” scandal – the U.S. Diplomatic cables leak, scandal began in 2010, when WikiLeaks began releasing classified cables that had been sent to the U.S. State Department by hundreds of its embassies, consulates, and diplomatic missions around the globe. In the conclusion, the significance of the war on terror is highlighted, but the author is convinced, that this is a part of a broader process – United States is losing its superpower status and American establishment is influenced by military-industrial complex, so global war on terror could be eternal. The process of globalizing war on terror is proceeding rapidly – from the author's point of view this is highly dangerous.

The aim of this article is to outline the processes of adiaphorization (the term which was coined by the Polish-English sociologist Zygmunt Bauman, who was a subtle analyst of the issue of power) in contemporary capitalist Poland after the collapse of the real socialism system. This text consists of three chapters. The author begins by outlining the similarities and differences between adiaphorisation in the two phases of modernity: ‘heavy’ (‘solid’) and ‘liquid’ (‘flexible’); the former was characteristic of the society of producers (workers and soldiers), while the latter was characteristic of the society of consumers. It then moves on to nationalism as a source of adiaphorization, which Bauman himself experienced personally as a leftwinger of Jewish origin. The final section focuses on the establishment of order and its collateral victims, including ‘flawed consumers’.

The thesis of this paper is that the present crisis situation in the area of public health does not necessarily mean an analogous crisis in economic sphere, which is the sign neoliberal capitalism. We claim that the situation of pandemic harmonizes with capitalist economy. In effect the system appears as stable and effective. In our article we present dialectical view of ideological aspects of pandemic reality, which corelates with theorem about socialization of losses and privatization of profits in economic and political processes.

W naszym artykule prezentujemy dialektyczny ogląd ideologicznych aspektów pandemicznej rzeczywistości, który koreluje z twierdzeniem o uspołecznieniu kosztów i prywatyzacji zysków procesów ekonomiczno-politycznych.
