The subject of the article forms part of a broader phenomenon of social and cultural periodicals that were common reading for the Polish intelligentsia in 1944-1948. The author analyses and assesses the views promulgated in those papers about modern Polish culture and its outlooks in the post-Yaltan order before the government started to impose socialist realism.
