Article “Birth - Strategies of Description in Efemeros by Bazyli Rudomicz” is an attempt to analyze ways of describing a seventeenth-century memoirist. The author draws attention to what a Rudomicz dealt with and interested in, distinguishing individual strategies for creating notes in his diary. The memoirist presents himself as a person who creates various discourses, depending on the way he looked at a given situation. Rudomicz was involved in individual roles. He looked at events as not only a observer, but also as a father, doctor or as a burgher seeking sensation and novelty. He described what was most important or new to him, which gave him the opportunity to observe significant people. Completly differently he described which seemed universal in his opinion, or something he was accustomed about.

The aim of presented article is to discuss the problem of captivity and freedom in an animal fairy tale that appeared on the margins of the reading of the occasional piece “Rapt J[ej] m[ości] Panny Dzierżanowskiej przez J[ego]m[ości] P[an]a Frantemberka”, described by J[ego] m[ości] P[an]a Aleksandra Minora, cupbearer of Chełm. The piece that need to be commented more broadly is a conventional description of changes in the heroine’s appearance and behaviour when she decides to escape from her family home with her beloved at night. The heroine was compared to a bird in a cage. This opens a fairy-tale perspective and poses questions about love, freedom and slavery. Due to a great extensiveness of the relevant material, the article includes only those fairy tales that discuss the themes of slavery and freedom. (Horacy, Fedrus, Biernat of Lublin, Mikołaj Rej, Bartosz Paprocki, Jean La Fontaine, Ignacy Krasicki, Adam Mickiewicz).

The article deals with “Helicon of Polish Apollo” by Jerzy Władysław Judycki, a piece written on the occasion of the wedding of the Polish King, Władysław IV Vasa with a French princess, Marie Louise Gonzaga in 1646. In the text the author presents a literary and editorial frame of the wedding cycle and also attempts at analysing two selected songs, referring to the historical contexts and source texts form that time. It results in indicating differences between the story of events in the epithalamium (King’s participation in celebrations) and historical reality. The text is accompanied by an edition of two songs from “Helicon” uniquely preserved by the Library of the University of Warsaw.

Głównym źródłem danych były informacje pierwotne pochodne z badań własnych. Narzędziem badawczym był kwestionariusz ankiety. Badania przeprowadzono w 2020 r.
