Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie aktualnych ujęć interpunkcji okoliczników w języku polskim. Analizie poddano wskazówki pochodzące ze słowników ortograficznych i poradników językowych wydanych po roku 2000 (m.in. autorstwa profesorów Edwarda Polańskiego, Jerzego Podrackiego czy Zygmunta Saloniego). Różny stopień szczegółowości prezentowanych zasad, niekiedy ich nieprecyzyjność, pokazują, że problem przestankowania okoliczników powinien być poddany dyskusji i standaryzacji. Przedstawiony w pracy przegląd daje odpowiedź na dwa pytania: (1) „Które reguły zyskują powszechną aprobatę?”, (2) „Które zasady domagają się uszczegółowienia?”.

Main aim of the article is presentation adverbial’s punctuation in Polish. The analysis concerns punctuation instructions framed in spelling dictionaries and punctuation guides spent after 2000 (among others authorships of professor Edward Polański, Jerzy Podracki or Zygmunt Saloni). Different degree of accuracy presented principles, sometimes their inaccuracy, are showing that the problem of the punctuation of adverbials should be subjected to discussion and the standardization. The review of various opinions described at the work is giving an answer to two questions: (1) “Which rules are gaining the universal approval?”, (2) “Which principles are demanding of elaborating?”.

Celem artykułu jest przegląd reguł interpunkcyjnych dotyczących przestankowania zdań zawierających imiesłów przymiotnikowy. Pod uwagę wzięto przede wszystkim materiały (słowniki, poradniki, odpowiedzi udzielone na łamach poradni językowych) opublikowane po roku 2000, ponieważ – jak się zdaje – to właśnie one w największym stopniu kształtują współczesną praktykę pisowniową. W artykule przyjrzano się takim aspektom prezentacji zagadnienia, jak: zakres i stopień szczegółowości opisu, zbieżność/rozbieżność opinii, przydatność poszczególnych językowych zaleceń. Zaakcentowano również możliwy kierunek zmian w objaśnianiu wskazanego fragmentu normy interpunkcyjnej.

The aim of the article is to review rules of punctuation concerning sentences with an adjectival participle. First of all, only sources published after 2000 were taken into account (dictionaries, handbooks, answers from linguistic advice services) because, it seems, they have shaped the contemporary punctuation practice to a decisive degree. The article scrutinizes such aspects of the issue as: the scope and details of them description, convergence / divergence of opinions, usefulness of individual linguistic recommendations. A possible direction of changes when it comes to explaining the analysed instance of punctuation norms is also indicated.

The Polish sign language (in Polish, PJM) is a typical form of communication in a society of profoundly deaf people. In modern linguistics, it is viewed in two different ways. Some researchers treat PJM as an ordinary language, while others question its linguistic status. This article describes coincidental and differentiating features of natural sound languages and gestural systems.
