The article gives an overwiew of Polish and German phrasemes, which describe a person who is considered stupid, inept and foolish. The related stupidity semantic field includes a very large number of idioms that address / focus different aspects of this property. There are idioms with both the adjective stupid / głupi or nouns stupidity / głupota, fool / głupiec (and their synonyms) that is, those which the assessment explicitly communicate, as well as many phrases that do not contain these lexemes and implicitly verbalize the stupidity of people and also describe it euphemistic.

Possibilities of usage meta-analysis method in economic research area The article presents the method of meta-analysis showing its essence, main elements, steps of carrying out research, as well as showing the advantages and disadvantages. In the support to available scientific bases of the source body of the literature, the author checked the economic studies, in which meta-analysis was used and divided them into twelve subject groups. Two group were the most numerous, they were: (1) macro-economics in such subjest as development and growth economics, sustainable development, national accounts, public budgeting and finance and (2) management, especially about productivity, quality of human capital, organizational attitude, and widely understood competitiveness.

Tekst poddaje analizie zjawisko bezdomności, głównie w odniesieniu do bezdomnych z terenów Krakowa, gdzie skala tego problemu jest szeroka. Przyjęta perspektywa badawcza odwołuje się do założeń teorii racjonalnego wyboru. Artykuł prezentuje część wniosków płynących z badań jakościowych wśród osób bezdomnych, przepro­wadzonych w okresie od marca do kwietnia 2011 roku na potrzeby pracy licencjackiej. Przedstawione aspekty racjonalności odnoszą się do wyboru Krakowa jako „miejsca zamieszkania", decyzji związanej z preferowanym miejscem noclegu, przystosowaniem do życia w bezdomności oraz przyjmowaniem postawy roszczeniowej, charakterystycznej dla osób bezdomnych.

The purpose of the article was to point out the possibilities of applying metaanalysis in economic science and particularly in econometrics. So far, in Poland meta-analyses were applied in behavioral sciences, medicine and some in economic studies and management, whereas this method has been used used elsewhere since the 1970s for solving a wide spectrum of problems in many fields of study. The present article shows meta-analysis as the method using statistical tools the most, from amongst all the methods of the literature review, and it shows the procedure of carrying it out step by step and its advantages and disadvantages.
