Piotr Zamojski, a nobleman and a Sieradz burgehr (nobilis et famatus) was one of the most notable Sieradz citizens in the second part of the 16th century. He was a juror (1570–1572), a councilor (1575/1576), a landvogt (1577/1578) and the Sieradz mayor (1578/1579). He manufactured and sold various liquors, including beer and booze. He traded in salt, iron and leather and also acted as a pawnbroker offering burghers lawns on their houses and land. The inventory was catalogued on 27 December of 1581. It contains a list of objects from 5 chests deposited in the parish church as well as objects found in individual rooms of the house, animals in a stable and grains in a barn. Movable properties listed in the inventory include clothes, jewelry, farm equipment, equipment for booze manufacture. The inventory comprised all the things from the house and the farm. Their number which was exceptional compared to other burgher inventories is undoubtedly a sign of Piotr Zamojski’s wealth. A big part of the wealth was Agnieszka’s dowry or was from the house of her uncle, canon Franciszek. What seems certain is the fact that Piotr Zamojski inherited his vast collection of books. It included not only books typical for a clergyman, but a big collection of books confirming a humanistic inclination of the owner. Some of them were probably bought by Piotr Zamojski, e.g. books concerning municipal law. The inventory also included various objects offered by the Sieradz gentry due to unpaid taxes. Among those things given to a tax-collector were even family signet rings!
