The current super dynamic and ultra-competitive market requires logistics service providers to innovate in order to improve their competitive edge. Looking at their efforts a trend emerges of businesses putting their weight behind finding areas which could give them long-term competitive advantage. Some of them foresaw sustainable development as the concept of the future. This paper sets out to address the question "does implementation of and prac-tices consistent with the concept of sustainable business translate to competitive advantage of logistics service providers." This question is addressed with help of real-life cases of logisti-cs companies.

Hiperdynamiczny rynek wymusza na usługodawcach logistycznych poszukiwania nowych spo-sobów mających na celu poprawę pozycji konkurencyjnej. Obserwując dotychczasowe dzia-łania usługodawców logistycznym można zauważyć, że podejmują oni liczne próby poszuki-wania obszarów zapewniających im długookresową przewagę konkurencyjną. Niektórzy z nich swoją przewagę konkurencyjną dostrzegli w koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju. W ar-tykule podjęto próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie „czy wprowadzenie i działanie zgodnie z koncep-cją zrównoważonego biznesu wpływa na pozycję konkurencyjną usługodawców logistycz-nych”. Na poparcie tezy przytoczono przykłady działań wśród operatorów logistycznych.

Specific competences of employees are important for rescue services. This means that workers who have a certain set of competences including knowledge, abilities, experience, attitudes and the worker’s readiness to act in conditions of high stress and risk will be searched for. The goal of the paper is to study opinions of young generation who are not associated with rescue services and who do not see their career in the area about the importance of competences necessary to perform the work of a “rescue worker”.

In the article a problem of the evaluation of the quality of living in Katowice in the category was taken mobilities. Evaluation (preliminary) they made students based on questionnaire surveys conducted on the group (stationary and nonstationary) of Economic University in Katowice. Achieved results constitute the interesting research space, showing the quality of living in Katowice young people to feelings in future action being able to raise the felt level.

Globalizacja i internacjonalizacja wpływa na działalność usługodawców logistycznych. Dostrzegają oni konieczność zmian w dotychczasowych modelach biz-nesowych, zwłaszcza w obszarze strategii. Wobec tego przed usługodawcami stoi za-danie polegające na dostosowaniu realizowanych strategii lokalnych do jednej strategii globalnej. W artykule wskazano, że warunkiem koniecznym osiągnięcia sukcesu przez usługodawców logistycznych jest oparcie działalności na strukturze sieciowej i strategii glolokalnej.

The globalization and the internationalization influence the operations of lo-gistics services providers. They notice the need for change in current business models especially in the area of the strategy. In that case before logistics services providers a task consisting in adapting realized local strategies into one global strategy is standing. In the article they showed that basing activity was a necessary condition of achieving success by logistics services providers for the network structure and the glolocal strategy.
