The article deals with the new issue in the contemporary business - co-opetition. It is defined as simultaneously occurred competition and co-operation between enterprises. Co-opetition (among coexistence, co-operation and competition) is one of four basic types of inter company relations. Depending on relations between competition and co-operation levels as well as number of inter company linkages co-opetition may present various types of relationships. Co-opetition plays more and more significant role in the turbulent international business. However co-opetitos have to meet several requirements e.g. possessing complementary strategic assets, mutual objectives, willingness to learn, communicate and to create mutual values.
