Inwestycje na rynku kapitałowym nieodłącznie wiążą się z podejmowaniem decyzji. Inwestorzy, którzy alokują środki na rynkach kapitałowych, stosują różnorodne metody wspierające efektywność podejmowanych przez nich decyzji inwestycyjnych. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie wykorzystania alternatywnej metody – drzew decyzyjnych – w ocenie efektywności inwestycji portfelowych oraz wartości dodanej płynącej z zastosowania omawianej metody. W artykule podjęto badanie, które pokazuje możliwe powiązanie klasycznej analizy portfelowej z szerszą analizą makroekonomiczną, akcentując wpływ otoczenia makroekonomicznego na wynik inwestycji portfelowej. Próbę badawczą w analizie empirycznej stanowi szereg dziennych logarytmicznych stóp zwrotu dla 15 spółek wchodzących w skład indeksu sektorowego WIG-deweloperzy notowanego na Warszawskiej Giełdzie Papierów Wartościowych.

Investments on the capital market inevitably result in making decisions. Investors who allocate their means on capital markets use different methods that are supposed to support effectiveness of their investment related decisions made. The article aims at presenting the use of an alternative method – decision trees – to assess effectiveness of portfolio investments and the value added that results from the use of the very method. The article presents the research that illustrates possible connection between a classical portfolio analysis with a wider macro-economic one. Some attention is paid to the influence of the macro-economic environment on the result of portfolio investment. The research sample in the empirical analysis involves a range of daily logarithmic rates of return of 15 companies of the WIG-developers’ sector index of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
