The idea of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development of enterprises is more and more space in the theory and practice of business. Practically every corporation and a large company implements CSR , and their example goes as many small and medium-sized enterprises. However, they face a lot of barriers that hinder significantly or at least slow down the process of implementing this idea. In this article used the results of research carried out in 2012 on a group of 250 randomly selected companies in the Malopolska province belonging to the SME sector.

Świadomość ekologiczna człowieka jest wyrazem jego wiedzy o środowisku oraz umiejętności dostrzegania zjawisk, ich wzajemnych relacji, przyczyn i skutków, a także gotowości podjęcia działań na rzecz ochrony środowiska naturalnego. Istnieje także potrzeba podjęcia przemyślanych i zintegrowanych działań zmierzających do pogłębienia i ugruntowania wiedzy oraz budowania i wzmocnienia świadomości ekologicznej przedsiębiorców. W artykule zdefiniowano pojęcie świadomości ekologicznej oraz opisano sposoby postrzegania środowiska przez przedsiębiorców. Przedstawiono wyniki badań własnych przeprowadzonych w 2016 r., wśród przedsiębiorców z województwa małopolskiego. Istotą stosowanej metody badawczej były badania ankietowe, z wykorzystaniem kwestionariusza poddanego analizie statystycznej.

The ecological awareness is an expression of genuine knowledge of nature, along with the competence in apprehending various phenomena, their interdependence, causes and conceivable outcomes; it also encompasses people’s alacrity to act with the purpose of preserving the environment. The findings indicate an importunate need for integrated activities for the entrepreneurs, aimed at broadening their knowledge, as of forming and strengthening their ecological awareness, irrespective of their activities. This article describes the concept of environmental awareness and the most current environmental risks. It also shows the results of own study conducted in 2016 among entrepreneurs of Małopolska Voivodship. The essence of the research method used was a questionnaire distributed to respondents.

The aim of the paper is presentation of changes which took place between agricultural indexes in 2002 and 2010 in accordance to changes of agricultural holdings income. The research shows that there was increase of typical agricultural activity income about 6,8% but that kind of activity was only 30,3% of total income. Among other sources of income there were pointed wage labor (31,1%), non-agricultural activity (9,5%) and income from pensions and annuities (19,7%).

Funkcjonowanie przedsiębiorstw zgodnych z zasadami zrównoważonego rozwoju może przyczynić się do wzrostu ich atrakcyjności, a także wzmocnić ich pozycję konkurencyjną. Realizacja tych zasad pozwala na wytwarzanie towarów i usług w taki sposób, aby wykorzystać procesy i systemy ograniczające zły wpływ na środowisko dzięki oszczędzaniu energii i surowców. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie znaczenia problematyki zrównoważonego rozwoju w odniesieniu do funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw. Wskazano również etapy zachodzące w przedsiębiorstwie na drodze do zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz korzyści i koszty wynikające z prowadzenia działalności proekologicznej.

Enterprises’ functioning compliant with sustainable development principles may cause increase of their attractiveness and build up their competitiveness position. Realization of those principles allow for production of goods and service in the way using processes and systems limiting bad influence on natural environment by saving of energy and raw materials. The aim of the paper is to present meaning of sustainable development problems in relation to enterprises’ functioning. In the paper there were also pointed stages existing in the enterprise on the way to its sustainable development and profits, costs resulting from pro-ecological activity.
