In the first part of the paper we characterize her family home and adolescence up to the beginning of her apostleship of love. In the second part we have discussed her main formative ideas. Her family milieu was the first place of a profound religious formation and a ministry on behalf of all the people, especially those who suffer. The attitude of Mother Teresa of Calcutta and her sisters is characterized by a total devotion to God, full of trust and kindness. The aim of her activity was to "satisfy the thirst of Jesus Crucified" through the love of God. Each individual man was important for her, irrespectively of what he is and what his beliefs are, for every man is the child of God. Mother Teresa encourages us to do beautiful things for God, for life gives us a lot of opportunities. Prayer and internal silence are important in the life of each man, they flow straight from the heart. Love requires time, devotion and sacrifice. Love begins in our hearts. One should not be afraid of showing love, for it brings us closer to God. Mother Teresa responded to the gift of woman’s vocation with all her life, showing that a determined, brave woman, with a strong will, sacrificing all her life, is able to solve some matters. The testimony of her life infects others, radiating in all directions. As Martini writes, she is our model for the beginning of the new century.
