The article attempts to characterize working conditions in wood processing plants located in the rural areas of the Opole region, taking into account the opinion of employees and their supervisors. The analysis of working conditions was made on the basis of key factors. Particular attention was paid to organizational and technical as well as to economic working conditions. The first area is focused on the factors of the work environment and work organization, while the second area is focused on employment conditions.

The level of involvement of Polish companies, especially micro, small and medium-sized ones, in their activities consistent with the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility is relatively small. On the one hand, it may be due to poor knowledge concerning this subject, especially about the benefits that derive from it, and what can be achieved (e.g. improved image, increased competitiveness, the ability to innovate). On the other hand, there is a need to bear, particularly in the beginning, the necessary costs, and this reimbursement is not immediately felt by the company. The aim of this article is to present a way of implementing the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility and its impact on improving the competitiveness of the audited company. The analysis was carried out at the largest wood processing plant in the Opole region.

Celem artykułu była identyfikacja i analiza zależności pomiędzy jakością pracy a jakością życia. Przedstawiono istotę i sens jakości pracy. Następnie zaprezentowano sposób ujmowania jakości życia. Dokonano analizy zależności występujących między jakością pracy a jakością życia. Stwierdzono, iż jakość pracy jest istotną determinantą jakości życia społeczeństwa. Ponadto zaprezentowano odczucia pracowników branży tartacznej co do jakości ich życia w odniesieniu do jakości pracy.

The aim of the article was to identify and analyze the correlation between the quality of work and quality of life. The essence and meaning of the quality of work was presented. Furthermore, the article presented how to recognize the quality of life. An analysis was based on correlation between the quality of work and the quality of life. It was stated that the quality of work is an important determinant of the quality of life of society. Moreover, the article presented sawmilling industry employees feeling about the quality of their lives in relation to the quality of work.
