W artykule przedstawiono funkcjonowanie rodziny, w której pojawia się dziecko z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Zostały opisane role jakie przejawiają rodzice i pełnione przez nich funkcje. Pojawienie się dziecka z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną może zmienić dotychczasowe relacje zachodzące w rodzinie oraz wpływa na jej funkcjonowanie.

The article presents the functioning of a family in which a child with intellectual disability appears. It features the roles taken by the parents and their functions in the new situation. The appearance of an intellectually disabled child can change the existing relationship in the family and affect the family functioning going forward.
