The article relates to a series of workshops, artistic activities, exhibitions and presentations conducted by the students of Cultural Animation of the University of Zielona Góra and the AFA Photography College between 2009 and 2012. The actions included three countries of Eastern Europe (Poland, Ukraine and Romania) and took place in small villages situated away from large urban areas. The objectives of the actions were: deepening the photo workshop, performing the activities and presentations in already existing, often untypical conditions, media education, intercultural and intergenerational integration. The results of the actions exceeded the expected effects. Artistic activities have become a regular feature of the culture of the villages gathering more and more inhabitants and the youth deepens knowledge of their origins and traditions of the region. There has been collected extensive photographic documentation of places that will probably disappear due to the growing civilization. The workshop activities are not only aimed at media education and inspiring critical image analysis, awakening sense of aesthetics and documenting the cultures disappearing under the influence of civilizational transformations, but also at arousing interest and supporting the unique cultural phenomena with all their diversity, colour, flavour and music.

The article World of the “silent majority as the context of the cultural education – about source of the cultural animation of the resistance” was conceived from the need of seek new forms of cultural education based on the formation process. The author points to the need for such a search in the face of accelerating civilizational development – lightning development of the communication technology and production methods, and hence the shaping of new forms of social relations. The changes which are taking place are questioning even the most elementary methods of the education. Using the terminology taken from the theories of Jean Baudrillard and Theodor Adorno the author tries to demonstrate that the educational system of social-adaptive character is standing in the face of “silent majority” – in the face of the world after the society, which as a result stops fulfilling its role. Basing his reflection on critical concepts of education, model of repressive society and model of “silent majority” the author points to meaning of diverse forms of violence (e.g. hierarchization of society, system of penalties and awards) for the reproduction of these phenomena in the institutionalized educational system. The essential part of the article constitutes seeking possibilities to create foundations for forms of cultural education taking ongoing changes into account. The author seeks such a possibility in forms of animation activities concentrated on creative process and its aspects which constitute the source of the resistance.
