This article presents the results of the developed empirical studies which were the subject of ways to get knowledge about the education of the parents. In the article referred to the important role of the family in the upbringing of the child, an analysis on the theory of knowledge about education, justified the need for the parents of specific knowledge in order to properly carry out their educational process, then presents the results obtained developed based on empirical data. Due to the fact that parents should have a specific, rather than casual knowledge of education, the content of which explains the meaning and the role that they have the knowledge necessary for the proper implementation of the educational function of the family and the need for parents with reliable sources of knowledge about the education of children in the family.
