Przedmiotem analizy tekstu są filmy Popiół i diament Andrzeja Wajdy i Wszyscy jesteśmy Chrystusami Marka Koterskiego, których zestawienie umożliwia uwidocznienie charakterystycznego dla polskiej świadomości kompleksu – patriotyzmu żałobnego, który powiązany jest z mesjanizmem. Artefakty artystyczne potraktowane zostają jako element dopełniający i komentujący rzeczywistość społeczną określonych momentów historycznych.

Miron Bialoszewski regarded unpretentious urban and suburban reality, such as the one in Chamowo, in back of the Saska Kepa district of Warsaw with access to the 'groves over the Vistula', as a living spectacle which inspired him and which he co-created. He went on evening dates with this reality, at times dictating its appearance by obliterating the boundaries between art and nature.
