Celem niniejszego opracowania jest zwrócenie uwagi na znaczenie systemu kaizen we współczesnych organizacjach. Autor stawia tezę, że system kaizen przy odpowiedniej jego konstrukcji i zarządzaniu przyczynia się do rozwoju potencjału społecznego w organizacjach, a przez to – w perspektywie długofalowej – umacnia pozycję danej organizacji w otoczeniu. Opracowanie zawiera wnioski z badań empirycznych prowadzonych przez autora. Badania dotyczyły określenia korzyści z systemu kaizen dla organizacji oraz dla pracowników, a także zmierzały do zdefiniowania oczekiwań wobec skutecznych systemów kaizen w organizacjach.

The aim of this study is to show the Kaizen system, which contributes to the development of the social potential of organizations. The Kaizen system must be properly designed and maintained. Proper Kaizen system contributes to strengthening the company’s competitive position in a long time. The paper contains the conclusions of empirical research conducted by the author. The study involved determining the benefits of Kaizen system for the organization and for employees, and also aimed to define expectations for effective Kaizen systems in organizations.

Development is focused on issues related to the uncertainty avoidance in the workplace and the factors motivating employees. It is based on the results of empirical research in three groups of companies: Polish, which use Japanese management methods, Polish, which do not use Japanese management methods and Japanese companies operating in Poland. The research method is comparative case studies in the three groups of companies. The aim of the survey was to show which of the motivating factors are the most important to employees in the surveyed companies and to show which ones help to reduce uncertainty in the workplace. At the end there are given examples of actions that are taken in Japanese companies in Japan. There is also formulated a recommendation that a number of these actions should be transferred to the Polish companies to strengthen the effectiveness of motivation and help to reduce the feeling of uncertainty.

The purpose of this paper is to describe the evolution of the teamwork forms in the selected Japanese companies operating in Poland. Based on literature studies and empirical research the author has defined five stages of the evolution of the teamwork forms. The evolutionary approach helps in the creation of an organizational structure based on teams, which is important for the effective use of the Japanese management concepts.

Celem niniejszego opracowania jest opisanie ewolucji form pracy zespołowej w wybranych japońskich przedsiębiorstwach w Polsce. Na podstawie studiów literaturowych oraz badań empirycznych zostało zdefiniowanych pięć faz ewolucji form pracy zespołowej, przez które przechodzą japońskie przedsiębiorstwa w Polsce, aby ukształtować – istotną z punktu widzenia japońskich koncepcji zarządzania – strukturę organizacyjną opartą na zespołach.

The article focuses on the diagnosis of Management learning state in the best Polish technical universities on Civil Engineers faculties. The authors pose the thesis that in the Polish technical universities there are too few Management courses, so that some of the civil engineers are unable to effectively carry out their tasks in managerial positions. The authors are looking for the confirmation of the thesis analysing twenty programs of Civil Engineering faculties. The average share of hourly subjects of Management in the total number of hours in the analysed faculties was 3%, which the authors deem a very low value. Based on the analysis of literature, the authors recognize that Management knowledge is essential for civil engineers from a certain stage of their careers. The competency gap associated with social and interpersonal competencies can be completed through the tools of lifelong learning, so that engineers with very good technical knowledge will be also able to effectively carry out management tasks.

The aim of this paper is to identify the role of projects in the development of innovative company on the example of selected innovative enterprises from Lower Silesia. The enterprise selected for the research was the Samorządowy Informator SMS Sp. z o.o., which provides five main e-services. Each of those was designed basing on project management methodology and is a response for the market needs. The article presents the development of selected e-services and the enterprise development that could be reached through these e-services. Orientation for projects is one of the pillars to implement company’s strategy. The analysis of the enterprise indicates that ability to create e-services as well as effective project portfolio management helps in company’s development on a competitive market.
