The purpose of this paper was to verify the location of Osek Mountain mentioned in Cosmas’ Chronicle in the first quarter of the 12th century and the use of data from the text of the chronicle and charters from Zbraslav Monastery from the 14th century for analysis of the route of the path in the respektive area. Authors of the article conducted a large surface research and tried to briefly describe the development of the network of paths in the south-western vicinity of Prague; they specifically focused on the reconstruction of the route of the early medieval long-distance path to South Bohemia which passed over Osek Mountain after wading the river Berounka in a difficult spot.
