The Cross-border directive was introduced in 2013. It determinates the relationships between ministries of health within the European Union, patient and payers. The aim of the study was to present the advantages of the implementation the Cross-border directive. The main used method is the analysis of the document: European Parliament and Council Directive No. 2001/24/EU. The results of the study shows the Cross-border directive is bringing more advantages than disadvantages.
