The researchers in the field of the history of national philosophy from Belarus, Lithuania and Ukraine were asked to answer 4 questions: 1. How did studies of the history of national philosophy influence your country’s philosophical culture? Which philosophical and generally cultural achievements of the history of national philosophy in your county are worth drawing attention to? 2. How were researches into the history of national philosophy related to national self-identity in your country in the 20th century? 3. How did transformations over the last twenty years affect the status of the history of national philosophy and how did it influence researches in this field? 4. Which role does / can the history of national philosophy play in the system of philosophical disciplines? Which potential does this discipline have in your country and which objects of investigation is it connected to?

Problems of coexistence, interaction and preservation of national cultures become more and more significant during the globalization epoch. Whether the local is forced out by the global? Whether there arises a uniform world culture? What forms do processes of a spiritual exchange take today? These and accompanying questions were a subject matter of consideration of joint conference of the Russian and Ukrainian philosophers which have taken place in Kiev.
