Artykuł dotyczy potrzeby posługiwania się językiem angielskim w pracy zawodowej, a motywacją do jego nauki u osób studiujących na kierunkach: Informatyka i Turystyka. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań ankietowych autorka artykułu analizuje czynniki wpływające na motywację do nauki języka angielskiego i charakteryzuje wymogi wpływające na konieczność komunikowania się w języku angielskim w życiu zawodowym absolwentów wymienionych kierunków.

The article focuses on the necessity to use English in professional life and motivation to learn it among students studying Information Technology and Tourism. On the basis of questionnaire results the author analyses factors influencing motivation and specifies why the necessity to communicate in English is essential for graduates of the mentioned fields of studies in their professional life.

Foreign language classes in the form of blended learning are conducted in a lecture room and in a special environment - on an educational platform. Distance learning aims at supporting the process of language acquisition, not at superseding tradition methods. The present article focuses on the methodological aspects of creating distance language courses as well as the areas complementing traditional classes. The author points to the elements underlying the success of a didactic process, especially to the use of revision materials and their functioning in diverse areas of distance education.
