The paper presents manner in which Italians reformed their pension system seeking ideal solutions. The authoress explains why changes were necessary in the pension system in Italy before 1992. The article shows its biggest weaknesses and presents the way to eliminate them. The reader finds some informations about the most important reforms in Italy - Amato and Dini. He may know something about innovatory solutions which can become example for another countries. The authoress presents some Italian's opinions on the reform of pension system in their country to show what they think about its advantages and defects.

This paper is about 2nd pillar in the Italian pension system nowadays.The author presents the most important advantages and disadvantages of this pillar and their influence on the pension system in general amd tries to explain why it is not as good in practice as in theory. The open and close pension funds in Italy pension system are presentes as well as their duties and privileges according the law and in practice. He also tries to explain why Italian workers (especially young workers) should save their money in pension funds - not only in basic pension system. Finally, the author compares the 2nd pillar in the Polish and Italian pension systems.
