Komunikacja międzykulturowa w internecie a lokalne uwarunkowania procesów komunikacji społecznej.

Artykuł przedstawia specyfikę komunikowania międzykulturowego w internecie w porównaniu do komunikowania w świecie realnym, gdzie markery kulturowe określają materialne, społeczne i symboliczne granice chroniące integralność kultury i wyznaczające dopuszczalny zakres komunikowania poza własną grupą kulturową. Brak materialnych wyznaczników przynależności kulturowej, w połączeniu ze słabszą kontrolą grupy nad procesami komunikowania międzykulturowego w świecie wirtualnym sprawia, że internet jako taki należy traktować jako medium komunikowania międzykulturowego. Dlatego komunikowanie się w internecie można opisać w kategoriach procesu translatorycznego, z udziałem lub bez udziału profesjonalnego tłumacza. Skutkiem wyłączenia tłumacza z tego procesu może być interferencja lub konfuzja wzorów kultury nadawcy i odbiorcy, np. w formie kalki językowej. W nowoczesnych mediach posługujących się słowem pisanym (m.in. w internecie) występuje nowy rodzaj kalek językowych, jakimi są kalki ortograficzne.

This article examines the specificity of intercultural communication taking place in the Internet as opposed to the communication processes ocurring in the real world, in which cultural markers determine material, social and symbolic limits protecting the integrity of a given culture, as well as the accepted spectrum of communication activities performed outside one's cultural group. The lack of material markers of cultural belonging, along with weak control on the part of a group of intercultural communication processes taking place within in, causes that the Internet as such should be treated as a medium of intercultural communication. That is why online communication can be described with the use of categories originally employed to talk about the translation process, with or without the presence of a professional translator. Ruling a translator out from this process may result in interferences or instances of confusing cultural patterns of the sender and the receiver, for instance in the form of linguistic calques. In the contemporary media based on written communication (e.g. the Internet) a new form of calques, this is ortographic calques, has appeared.

Na podstawie przekrojowych danych oraz raportów instytucji i organizacji międzynarodowych, artykuł przedstawia aktualne trendy w migracjach międzynarodowych (masowa skala, nieformalny charakter i feminizacja migracji), jako punkt wyjściowy do dyskusji na temat przestrzegania praw człowieka migrantów oraz działań podejmowanych w tym kontekście przez społeczność międzynarodową na forum ONZ oraz – w ostatnim okresie – na szczeblu Unii Europejskiej, szczególnie w związku z próbami ograniczenia napływu nielegalnych imigrantów przez państwa docelowe.

The article provides an overview of current trends in international migrations based on figures and reports of international institutions and organizations, with special focus on the unprecedented scale, feminization, and privatization of the migration processes. The analysis of migratory trends is followed by a discussion of issues related to the protection of migrants’ rights in the context of measures put in place to prevent an inflow of undocumented migrants and the initiatives proposed in this respect by the United Nations and the European Union.

The article provides an overview of the developments in Poland after the collapse of communism in 1989 from the point of view of foreign language teaching, including a swift reorientation and transition from a public school system with Russian as the main foreign language, to a diversified language teaching market focused on teaching English and other languages. A particular stress is placed on a relatively new phenomenon, being an increased demand and new opportunities for teaching Polish as a foreign language to be further promoted as a result of anticipated amendments to legal regulations governing the status and certification of the Polish language.
