The article aims to explore the specificity of emigrantological studies and the role that phenomenology plays in them. The author draws attention to the fact that emigration and its rich tradition open a new venue for conductingmultifaceted research. Apart from anthropological (human philosophy) and personalistic approaches, phenome-nological ones, including the phenomenology of intimacy, can also lead to fruitful results. This new trend appears in the Polish philosopher Adam Hernas’s book You have always been with me (Od zawsze jesteś przy mnie) and inthe work The Phenomenology of Inti-macy (Fenomenologia bliskości) written by Elena Kaliteevska – the Russian representative of the phenomenological psychiatry.

From 20 to 27 August 2018, the International Slavic Congress took place in Belgrade. The pro-gram of the Commission held meetings that are accredited (affiliated) at the International Committee of Slavists. The congress of researches on emigration provided an opportunity to discuss the current state of research and their prospects for further development. The author of the article discusses the specifics of emigration research, paying particular attention to the achievements of Polish stud-ies, and points out the most important tasks facing the Board and the Bureau of the Commission. An important stage in the activities of the commission is the decision to move its headquarters to Olsztyn, which strengthens the Institute of Eastern Slavic studies as one of the Leading centers of emigration research, not only in Poland, but also in European science.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's biography is an exemple of a fight with totalitarianism that was taken up the Russian writer in the times of communism and a description of the said writer's difficult fate. Unlike most biographies concerning Russian writers, the biography of Solzhenitsyn does not bear any signs of conformity. Having returned from emigration, he criticised the new order in Russia, pointed to its weaknesses and deviations. Solzhenitsyn's life can be divided into four periods. Apart from the first one, the writer's fate will be presented in the following way: from success to denial. He will undergo changes depending on his social status as well as on the attitude towards the writer who always stayed true to the anthropological concept and the ethical program.

Krytycznie ustosunkowując się do dotychczasowych prób zdefiniowania specyfiki i granic czasowych baroku rosyjskiego przedstawionych w pracach radzieckich i nieradzieckich rusycystów, autor proponuje widzieć w baroku określony prąd literacki rozumiany jako zbiór dystrybutywny, jako "ewolujący kompleks cech wspólnych dla owego zbioru utworów" (Markiewicz) i próbuje określić zasadnicze komponenty abstrakcyjnego (idealnego) modelu baroku rosyjskiego. Takie ujęcie pozwala - zdaniem autora - uniknąć mechanicznego przyporządkowania twórczości konkretnych pisarzy jednemu tylko prądowi i ułatwia rozumienie i właściwą interpretację twórczości tych pisarzy, którzy pisali utwory zawierające obok elementów barokowych pewne elementy średniowieczne czy klasycystyczne.
