A point of departure for deliberations on religious teaching as a basis for Christian formation is providing definitions for words like “formation”, “Christian formation”, or “teaching religion”, where the last one is presented in relation to catechesis. Then, the authors discuss the main goals of Christian formation, as well as ranges within which this formation is offered on religion classes at school. Since those ranges do not cover all the possible ways of providing Christian formation, there arises a need to identify the communities where such formation should take place, especially a family and the Church (not only a parish but also communities and Catholic movements). It turns out that Catholic formation in these communities is an indispensable condition for successful formation through teaching religion. Hence the conclusion that religion classes at school are mainly an organisational foundation and cannot assume the tasks of a family or Church.

The author gives a general discussion of modern changes of culture, stressing especially their social and religious implications; he shows the effect of the changes on education and defines the tasks of religion teaching and generally of religious education that are necessary in the described situation. He ascribes a special significance to the truth as the foundation of both Christian religious education and school education.

Autor artykułu stara się odpowiedzieć na pytanie, na ile misja chrześcijańska jest obecna w owocach, jakie wierzący otrzymuje w darze bierzmowania. By to zrealizować, omawia kolejno istotę bierzmowania i misji przedstawioną w katechizmach i dokumentach Kościoła, w tym polskich dokumentach programowych. Następnie ukazuje zmianę, jaką powoduje pojmowanie misji w kluczu nowej ewangelizacji i wezwania do nawrócenia pastoralnego. Na zakończenie, autor przedstawia katechetyczne i duszpasterskie propozycje.

The topic of growing into being a mature Christian should be related to the mission, that is, to Christ’s last command. The author of the article responds to the question, to what extent the Christian mission is present in the fruits of the gift of the sacrament of confirmation. To accomplish this task, the author first describes the sacrament of confirmation and Christian mission as is presented in the catechisms and in the documents of the Church, including polish directories regarding catechesis. Then he discusses the change brought about by the understanding of the missions in terms of new evangelization and call to pastoral repentance. As a conclusion, the author suggests some catechetical and pastoral proposals.

Zagadnienia sakramentu oraz postawy pokuty i pojednania w nauczaniu religii w szkole są zawsze aktualne, szczególnie w związku z ogłoszeniem przez papieża Franciszka Nadzwyczajnego Jubileuszu Miłosierdzia. Autor artykułu, na podstawie schematu zaczerpniętego z adhortacji św. Jana Pawła II Reconciliatio et paenitentia, ukazuje główne zakresy tematyczne odnoszące się do sakramentu pokuty i pojednania, jednocześnie wskazując na ich wykorzystanie w Podstawie programowej katechezy i Programie nauczania religii z roku 2010. Podkreśla, że problem związku nawrócenia z ewangelizacją jest złożony, w dużej mierze z tego powodu, że wymyka się planowaniu, w którym można by przewidzieć wszystkie czynniki. Zarówno nawrócenie, jak i ewangelizacja stanowią bowiem obszar, gdzie rozgrywa się walka dobra ze złem, Tego, który jest Prawdą, z ojcem kłamstwa. Issues of the sacrament and the attitude of penance and reconciliation in the teaching of religion in school is always up to date, especially in connection with the announcement by Pope Francis Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. The article, based on the diagram taken from the exhortation of St. John Paul II Reconciliatio et Paenitentia, shows the main subject areas relating to the sacrament of penance and reconciliation, while pointing to their use in the Core Curriculum program of catechesis and religious education from 2010. emphasizes that the problem of the relationship of conversion to evangelism is composed largely of For this reason, it defies planning, which could predict all factors. Both the conversion and evangelization are in fact an area in which takes the struggle between good and evil, the One who is the Truth with the father of lies. Taking action calling for evangelization and conversion are difficult to predict, because none of us can say that it is fully evangelized, and that at least does not stumble on the path of conversion. The author, referring to the theme of the pastoral program of the Church in Poland in the years 2012-2017, aimed at the new evangelization and deepening of baptismal consciousness, and attributable to the 30th anniversary of the publication of the Apostolic Exhortation St. John Paul II Reconciliatio et paenitentia, brings out the links evangelizing catechesis conducted in a variety of environments, the issue of conversion, penance and reconciliation. Successively discusses the relationship between catechesis and evangelization, especially the new evangelization, conversion appears as a particular challenge of contemporary catechesis and evangelization makes a brief analysis of the point of exhortation Reconciliatio et paenitentia dedicated to catechesis. Autor określa katechetykę jako naukę o katechezie i wskazuje, że definicja katechetyki jako nauki uzależniona jest od rozumienia katechezy w Kościele, co zmieniało się na przestrzeni wieków. Katechetyka była zatem definiowana bądź jako nauka pedagogiczna, bądź jako teologiczna. W tym drugim przypadku katechetyka jest rozumiana jako subdyscyplina teologii pastoralnej albo jako autonomiczna i interdyscyplinarna nauka teologiczna. Opowiadając się za tym ostatnim rozwiązaniem autor wskazuje na relację między katechetyką a jej naukami pomocniczymi: pedagogiką, socjologią i psychologią, wyjaśnia specyfikę wnioskowania katechetycznego oraz wyszczególnia modele badań katechetycznych.

Author defines catechetics as a research on catechesis and points, that the definition of catechetics as a science is conditional upon the comprehension of catechesis in the Church, which was altering through the centuries. Therefore, catechetics was beeing defined either as a pedagogical or a theological science. In the second case, catechetics is implied either as a subdiscipline of the pastoral theology or autonomous and interdisciplinary theological science. Pronouncing for this last answer, the author indicates the relation between catechetics and its supporting scientific disciplines: pedagogics, sociology and psychology, elucidates the pecularity of catechetical deduction and itemises models of catechetical research.

L’autore definisce catechetica come la scienza della catechesi e indica che la sua definizione dipende dalla mutata nell’arco della storia comprensione della catechesi nella Chiesa. La catechesi è stata così definita come una scienza o pedagogica o teologica. In quell’ultimo caso, la catechetica è intesa come una sotto-disciplina della teologia pastorale o come una autonoma e interdisciplinare scienza teologica. Optando per la seconda opzione l’autore mostra la relazione tra la catechesi e le sue scienze ausiliarie: pedagogia, sociologia e psicologia, spiega quindi le specifiche di inferenze catechistiche e specifica modelli della ricerca catechistica.

Back to determine apology faith in the post-conciliar theology, including practical theology, is a reference to the Fathers of the Church, the creators of the first apology, and to some concepts of the Bible, but also taking action in the spirit of the Council, which confirmed the achievements of grassroots movements in the Church, in order to the rediscovery of the Bible, the liturgy and the Fathers of the Church. Recognized in this way an apologia for faith means more than just protecting the faith, is the justification. The author first explains the meaning of the individual words contained in the title, then points to the contexts of apology for the faith, which is import_ant for its application in the teaching of religion, but also for the sake of teaching, when the disciples are to be witnesses to the faith. The headline of the article shows two faces apology, defense of faith and the reasons for it, referring to the contemporary problems faced by the teaching of the Catholic religion.

Riassunto: Il ritorno alla definizione apologia della fede nella teologia postconciliare, fra cui la teologia pratica, costituisce un referimento ai Padri della Chiesa autori delle prime apologie così come di certi concetti biblici ma anche un’implementazione dello spirito del Concilio, il quale ha promosso le iniziative dei movimenti originati “dal basso” nella Chiesa aventi come scopo una riscoperta della Bibbia, della liturgia e dei Padri. Un’apologia della fede intesa in questo senso significa più che una semplice difesa della fede, significa anche un dare ragione di essa. L’autore dell’articolo spiega prima il senso delle singole parole incluse nel titolo per poi fare un richiamo ai contesti dell’apologia della fede, il che è significativo per la sua applicazione nell’ambito dell’insegnamento della religione anche per gli stessi insegnanti, dato che devono essere per gli alunni testimoni della fede. In buona parte l’articolo mostra due volti dell’apologia: la difesa della fede e un darne ragione, in riferimento ai problemi attuali con i quali ha a che fare l’insegnamento della religione cattolica.

The author shows both how to accept the reply proposed by the new evangelization which challenges the present and how to carry it out as part of various catechetical activities of the Church in Poland. First, through the analysis of fundamental papal documents, he determines the character of the new evangelization. Then, he presents a reply of the new evangelization to contemporary problems with reference to Lineamenta prepared for the Synod of Bishops in 2012. He also explains how the catechesis can merge with the new evangelization, and analyses the tasks of catechesis, as described in the General Directory for Catechesis and adapted to Polish conditions.
