Głębokie zmiany w świadomości klientów, a także szybko rozwijająca się gospodarka wymuszają tworzenie nowych oraz innowacyjnych strategii logistycznych wspierających procesy produkcji i dystrybucji. Innowacyjne strategie produkcji i dystrybucji bazują w dużej mierze na nowoczesnych technologiach, systemach informatycznych, a także bardzo złożonej analizie dużej ilości danych z różnych źródeł. U podstaw rozwoju innowacyjnych strategii logistycznych wykorzystywanych w produkcji i dystrybucji leży logistyka informacji. To dzięki zasobowi informacji oraz logistyce tego zasobu możliwe jest kreowanie innowacyjnych systemów wspierających produkcję i dystrybucję, a także budowanie przewagi konkurencyjnej. W artykule poddano analizie wybrane strategie logistyczne wykorzystywane w produkcji i dystrybucji, a także zbadano wpływ logistyki informacji na ich funkcjonowanie. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie znaczenia logistyki informacji w strategiach logistycznych wykorzystywanych w dystrybucji i produkcji, a także wpływu na ich funkcjonowanie. Ponadto podjęto próbę ustrukturyzowania pojęć związanych z logistyką informacji, zasobem informacji oraz danymi.

Deep changes in customer awareness, as well as a fast-growing economy, forces the creation of new and innovative logistics strategies to support production and distribution processes. Innovative production and distribution strategies are based largely on modern technologies, information systems, as well as a very complex analysis of large amounts of data from various sources. The basis for the development of innovative logistic strategies used in production and distribution lies in information logistics, thanks to the information resources and the logistics of this resource, it is possible to create innovative systems supporting production and distribution, as well as building a competitive advantage. The article analyzed selected logistic strategies used in production and distribution, and also examined the impact of information logistics on their functioning. In addition, an attempt was made to structure concepts related to information logistics, information resources and data.

Zaprezentowano podstawowe źródła informacji oraz ich możliwe wykorzystanie, a także nowe wyzwania, jakie stoją przed logistyką informacji w handlu elektronicznym.

The aim of the article is to present the essence of logistics of information in building competitive advantage of companies operating in the sector of e-commerce. The resource which is information is a very valuable resource for the company. From its quality depends not only the level of communication between the different departments in the company, but above all building the competitive advantage. In the article was presented a literature review from the point of view of logistics of information. Was presented the current situation of e-commerce market in Poland, basic information sources and their possible use, and also the new challenges that confront logistics of information in e-commerce.
