The paper reviews formations with the -wa suffix (and its variant -twa) in the Slavic languages in view of the state in Greater Polish dialects, where a striking domination of agentive personal names can be seen; linguistic kinships are indicated. An overview of derivatives in -wa is supplemented with nouns in -ba as there exist cases of word-formative doublets and resuffixation.
The paper shows the social status of dialects in the eighteenth-century Polish society. The first part of article contains theoretical attentions: findings of researchers and the opinions of witnesses era. It turns out that social scope of dialects was wider and not limited only to the peasants. The second part is an analysis of the names of whippletree. I used material from stock lists of the nobility from the second half of the eighteenth century from Wielkopolska, showing the presence of distinctive and regional vocabulary.

Artykuł podejmuje temat statusu społecznego gwary w XVIII-wiecznym społeczeństwie polskim. Składa się z dwóch części. Pierwsza zawiera uwagi teoretyczne: ustalenia badaczy oraz opinie świadków epoki. Okazuje się, że dawniej zasięg społeczny gwary był szerszy i nie ograniczał się tylko do chłopów. Druga część to analiza nazw orczyka na jednego, dwa i trzy konie. Wykorzystano materiał wielkopolskich inwentarzy dóbr szlacheckich z 2. połowy XVIII wieku, pokazując obecność w nich leksyki dyferencyjnej i regionalnej.
Nomina agentis excerpted from inventories of noble estates in the Wielkopolska region in the second half of the 18th century have been analyzed. The article presents the results of the analysis of differential entries. The analysis was based on lexicographic data gathered in historical dictionaries, dictionaries of modern Polish, and research papers devoted to analogous material from other regions. The researcher took into consideration the level of the language where differentiation of the given units wasmanifested: phonetic, lexical (genetic criteria included), morphological, semantic. An attempt was made to indicate vocabulary from the Wielkopolska region.
During the period of partitions, eastern Greater Poland was in a special situation. It was doubly a linguistic periphery, both with regard to the rest of the region and to the major centres of cultural life (Cracow and Warsaw). In the 19th c., the principle “we speak as we write, and we write as we speak” was in wide use, meaning that the manuscripts from those times can be used to analyze the non-normalized language. Based on this assumption, the article discusses acts of civil status from the year 1821 from Golina and Kawnice (Konin municipality).
Cykl powieściowy "Kwiat paproci" to alternatywna wizja Polski w XXI wieku. Jest w niej jednak miejsce i dla gwary okolic Kielc, gdzie osadzona jest akcja. W artykule zbadano językowe wykładniki dialektyzacji oraz stereotyp tej odmiany polszczyzny w literaturze popularnej. Autorka umiejętnie oddała cechy rzeczywistej gwary (poziom fonetyczny, fleksyjny, słowotwórczy i leksykalny), jednocześnie wpisała je w literacki stereotyp dialektu ludowego. Ciekawie przedstawia się sposób wprowadzania leksykalnych środków gwarowych, który został dopasowany do zwyczajów językowych bohaterów. Badając stosunek bohaterów do gwary, umieszczenie tej odmiany w określonym kontekście kulturowym, odtworzyć można społeczny stereotyp gwary we współczesnej Polsce.

The novel series The Fern Flower is an alternative vision of Poland in the 21st century. However, there is a place in it for the dialect of the Kielce area (there is an action set in there). The article examines linguistic indicators of dialect stylization and the stereotype of dialect in popular literature. The author skilfully presented the features of the real dialect (phonetic, inflectional, word-form and lexical level), at the same time she wrote them into the literary stereotype of the dialect. Interesting is the manner of introducing dialectal vocabulary that has been adapted to the linguistic habits of the heroes. Examining the attitude of the heroes to the dialect, placing this variety in a specific cultural context, we can recreate the social stereotype of dialect in contemporary Poland.

Cities don't neighbour to each other and they weren't In contact never before, so semantic structure of germanisms reflects both the differences due to the nature the specifics of each of the urban centers, and common features resulting from the current perception of reality (among Rother things attitudes to anthropocentrism) or common of historical-social-cultural phenomenons, which shared Brno and Poznan.

Inventory books of nobility estates from the 2nd half of the 18th century are multi-layer texts due to the changing narrator-audience system. These documents include utterances of third persons and elements of other acts of communication. The analysed communication is therefore a multi-stage process (starting with the witnesses’ statements and ending with publication of the texts). Elements of a lower level become, on a higher level, a part of a message and can be modified. This is reflected in, among other things, a change of the code, language variety or input form. The goal of this article is to provide answers to the questions: who addresses whom in the analysed inventory books and what are its consequences to the text on the level of linguistic features.
