The present article aims at coping with the stress of a bank employee. The investigated group determined 54 workers of different bank agencies: customer consultants and cashiers. A questionnaire of inquiry as well as a CISS questionnaire by Endler and Parker have been used as tools. Advisers cope with stress better than cashiers. Stress bears on their effectiveness. Cashiers feel greater stress due to worse relations with their superiors, high responsibility at work, anxieties concerning excessive duties and routine practices. They use different stress management strategies - there is no prevailing strategy. The employees in both departments try to cope with stress impromptu, without analyzing its reasons, which leads to the rapid deterioration of their psychophysical condition and to the development of professional burn-up symptoms.

This paper discusses the usefulness of methodological seizing based on the logistic Rasch model in constructing of a new diagnostic tool: POA questionnaire (Pomiar Osobowości Autorskiej) is designed to examine the author’s personality based on Kazimierz Obuchowski’s personality theory. Basic foundations of the Rasch model will be presented, the information of theoretical and empirical bases of the new tool and example-results obtained using this model with reference to the created personality questionnaire. A theoretical basis of the psychological measurement was item response theory (IRT) – one of the theories of latent classes. The Rasch model comes from this theory. The psychometric properties of the data based on 2316 people investigated were analyzed using the computer programmes WINMIRA (supported by SPSS) and Mixed Rasch Model (MIRA). Both programmes were then used for scale development and validation. WINMIRA was used to examine the degree of fitting of the model to the POA questionnaire. Then it was possible to make the practical valuation of suitable parameters of the Rasch model by maximum likelihood methods using a series of iterative procedures.

The research sought to answer the question whether the duration of a marital relationship affects the spouse’s ability to accept his or her partner’s perspective. This has been done on the basis of the process of a momentous decision. 25 couples have been examined in each of the three different stages of marital life (group A = 0-4 years of marital life, group B = 5-18 years and group C = more than 18 years). They all varied as regards the number of children. The data have been gathered by means of three questionnaires for examining momentous decisions, referring to three perspectives (simple, metaperspective and meta-metaperspective), all of them based on the determined domains of the decision-making process. In order to study essential differences between the results test x2 has been used. Taking into consideration the degree of the agreement of beliefs between the spouses as regards the duration of their marriage, t-Student test has been used. The duration of marriage has turned out to be an essential factor as regards awareness and usefulness. Assuming meta- and meta-metaperspective has turned out to be most varied among the couples who have lived together the longest time. At the same time this group was most capable of accepting the partner’s perspective.
