Benedict XVI keeps reminding all Church members of the importance of the work of the new evangelization. He wants it to be alive in the hearts of all the believers. In the Apostolic Letter Ubicumque et semper of 21st September 2010 he established the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization. Relatively soon he designated its president and members, and specified its objectives. How much the Holy Father Benedict XVI is concerned with the work of the new evangelization for the renewal of the secularized world is confirmed by the fact that during the Mass concluding the Synod for the Near East Bishops he announced convening of the XIII Ordinary Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, which will be held from 7th to 28th October 2012, and will be devoted to the topic of “Nova evangelizatio ad christianam fidem tradendam – New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Christian Faith”. The introductory document – Lineamenta – is already available and includes a number of questions, very detailed, directed to the individual Conferences of Episcopates. From their answers, a working document Instrumentum laboris will be compiled for the Synod of Bishops to work on. But the Pope does not make do with that. He makes the idea of the new evangelization more familiar to us in his next documents: Porta fidei and the Note of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith with pastoral recommendations for the Year of Faith, whose content is presented in this article.

Przyszłość ludzkości, jak Jan Paweł II napisał, idzie przez rodzinę (FC 84).Artykuł odnosi się przede wszystkim do bogatego nauczania Kościoła na temat nowej ewangelizacji małżeństwa i rodziny. Pokazuje także drogi duchowego rozwoju rodziny wskazane przez papieża Jana Pawła II i Benedykta XVI podczas Światowych Spotkań Rodzin (1994-2012). Autor przypomina, że rodzina jest podmiotem ewangelizacji, jedną z podstawowych wspólnot, która na różnych polach codziennego życia stwarza okazje do ewangelizacji. Ewangelizacja rodziny prowadzi do uświadomienia rodzinie jej fundamentalnej roli w życiu jednostki, społeczeństwa i Kościoła. Małżeństwo i rodzina napotyka dzisiaj coraz to nowe problemy utrudniające ewangelizację. Dlatego zrozumiałe jest oczekiwanie na owoce Synodu Biskupów na temat rodziny, zwołanego przez papieża Franciszka.

The future of humanity, as John Paul II wrote, goes by the family (FC 84). The article refers above all to the rich teaching of the Church on the new evangelization marriage and family. It also shows the path of spiritual development of the family indicated by Pope John Paul II and Benedict XVI during the World Meeting of Families (1994-2012). The author reminds that the family is the subject of evangelization, one of the basic communities, which in various fields of everyday life provides opportunities for evangelization. The evangelization of the family leads to awareness of the fundamental role of the family in the life of the individual, society and the Church. Marriage and family encounters today, more and more problems hindering evangelism. It is therefore understandable expectation on the fruit of the Synod of Bishops on the family, convened by Pope Francis.
