In the article the authoress presented theoretical deliberations concerning the model of attribution by B. Weiner. She tried to interpret the causes of achiering succes and failure. The research was conducted among pupils in Classes four (246), five (263) and six (237) - (746 altogether) attending Primary Schools in Jastrzebie - Zdrój. According to B. Weiner, schoolchildren vary in the sort of dominating motives (schoolchildren motivated by succes and those motivated by failure). The authoress' survey findings demonstrate that the pupils are mainly motivated by succes and they attribute their achievements to their internal causes which are dependent on them. What should be emphasired is the fact that the model of attribution presented in the article can be found in pupils' interpretation of succes and failure.
