29 Międzynarodowa Konferencja Europejskich Firm Społecznych CEFEC, poświęcona zagadnieniom ekonomii społecznej oraz zdrowia psychicznego, jest najważniejszym wydarzeniem międzynarodowym w obszarze przedsiębiorczości społecznej. W dniach 22–23.09.2016 r. została ona zorganizowana po raz pierwszy w Polsce. W trakcie Konferencji poruszane były istotne zagadnienia dotyczące rozwoju przedsiębiorczości społecznej oraz prowadzenia skutecznej aktywizacji zawodowej osób niepełnosprawnych w naszym kraju. Omawiane podczas Konferencji rozwiązania i innowacje odegrają istotną rolę w dalszym rozwoju ekonomii społecznej w Polsce na przestrzeni najbliższych lat oraz przyczynią się do zwiększenia potencjału sektora przedsiębiorstw społecznych tworzącego miejsca pracy dla osób niepełnosprawnych. Konferencja poprzez wymianę wiedzy i doświadczeń międzynarodowych umożliwiła poszukiwanie rozwiązań problemów przedsiębiorstw społecznych tworzących miejsca pracy dla osób niepełnosprawnych, a w szczególności osób doświadczających problemów ze zdrowiem psychicznym.

29-th Annual Conference of Social Firms Europe CEFEC (Confederation of European social Firms, Employment initiatives and social Co-operatives) devoted to social economy and mental health issues took place in Lodz (Poland) on 22–23 September 2016. It was addressed to representatives of social enterprises, non-governmental organizations, umbrella organizations and public institutions from Europe. The participants (more than 200 people) represented 19 European countries and Japan. The conference provided an invaluable opportunity for European social entrepreneurs and NGOs active in the field of social economy to share and exchange professional knowledge and experience and show the social impact of social enterprises focusing on vocational integration of people with mental health problems. Participants also discussed the challenges that social firm sector was facing and looked together for solutions of the common issues that arose when creating valuable workplaces for vulnerable people. The important goal of the conference was to spread and promote best practices of European social enterprises in order to strengthen their capabilities. During the Conference (plenary sessions, study visits and workshops), experts from Poland and other countries presented and discussed very important issues concerning development of social entrepreneurship and effective vocational activation of people with disabilities in Poland, including: Social Return on Investment; economic aspects of running social enterprises, social firm model – best practices across Europe; umbrella organizations uniting and representing social enterprises; social franchising; social enterprise as an effective tool of vocational activation of people experiencing mental health problems. Innovations presented and discussed during the 29 Annual Conference of Social Firms Europe CEFEC will undoubtedly play an important role in Poland in further development of social economy and social entrepreneurship sector which creates workplaces for people with disabilities.
