Getting prepared for primary school enrolment involves being prepared to take over new Types of potential and essential tasks. This is a phenomenon that encompasses all aspects of life. Early childhood comprises a whole set of achievements which, under social aspects, are considered essential, phases of preparation, such as doing the first steps out of the immediate family environment and entering public life ( such as attending day-nursery, kindergarten or preschool) and entering the school- community. Parents and teachers will pay particular attention to this latter event, assigning pre-eminent significance for the child’s future to it. But is this attitude really justified? Rather not, as to the individual „status ante scholam” contribute various previous experiences that may even precede the moment of birth itself. In this case we have to admit the thesis which organizes the child’s further development, which in itself means that “ being prepared for school education is a random buildup of all educational achievements and their respective quality as provided by the family and preschool environment that precedes the stage of the so called school-readiness. “ The quality therefore is directly proportional to the quality of the environment the child has spent its first years in. Instead of assessing the child’s school-readiness it seems more reasonable to take under consideration the reality of everyday life as experienced by the child at home or in preschool and adjust the learning contents, methods and organization of the learning process according to the results of these investigations. A six year old is prepared for school education. The investigations I carried out in preschools leave no doubt about this fact. The crucial issue : is the school presently prepared to enroll children with modified developmentally and educational demands, remains open.
