In August 1920 the borderland of Mazovia and East Prussia was the area where the Bolsheviks and Germany began their collaboration. The Red Army got to the German border and it was the reason of intensifying the Soviet Russia and Germany’s endeavours to mutual cooperation and establishment close political and economic relations. The war on the Mazovia-Prussian bor- derland showed that the Polish politicians’ fears, which had been stated after regaining independence by Poland in 1918 and had been connected with the German – Soviet cooperation, were not baseless. The offensive of the Polish Army in August and September 1920 moved the front from East Prussia and as the result all German calculations concerning the possibility to use the Polish – Soviet military conflict with the purpose of liquidation of the terms of the Treaty of Versailles became outdated.
