W artykule zwrócono uwagę na konieczność uwzględniania pracowników organizacji jako jej produktów. Pracownik dowolnej organizacji jest poddawany przekształceniu w procesie wykonywania przezeń obowiązków wynikających z zatrudnienia w tej organizacji. Posługując się terminologią cybernetyczną powiemy, że różnica między kondycją pracownika na wejściu – czyli ów „zasób ludzki” – a kondycją tegoż pracownika na wyjściu – czyli ów swego rodzaju produkt – świadczy o tym jak pracownik jest traktowany przez organizację, w której jest zatrudniony. Zależy to od kultury danej organizacji i jej etycznej substancji.

The article highlighted the need to take into account employees of the organization as its products. Employee of any organization is undergoing transformation in the discharge of its obligations arising from employment in this organization. Using the terminology of cybernetics, the difference between the condition of the employee at the input („human resource”) and the condition of the output (“product”) demonstrates how the employee is treated by the organization in which he is employed. It depends on the culture of the organization and its ethical content.

The paper commemorites 30-tieth anniversary of the date when Professor Jan Zieleniewski, Haed of the Praxiology Department Polish Academy of Sciences, died. His contribution to praxiological theory of organization was so reach that one may learn the mesage of his study in the context of contemporary issue of sustainability. Contemporary praxiology is to a greater degree variation on a topic of..., as applied to different kinds of human endeavors. It refers to the spirit rather than to a word of the Master’s Praxiology. For some the Master is Tadeusz Kotarbiński, for others Ludwig von Mises, for all Alfred Victor Espinas as the precursor of technologie generale. The instrument the variations are played extensively is Internet. In the article the most characteristic findings are presented. It is suggested that praxiology is a kind of generative grammar of a “language” of action.

Tytuł artykułu stanowi grę słów wskazującą na pozytywne i negatywne strony pojęcia zgodności. Czy ma sens wprowadzanie nowego terminu i procedur na określenie postępowania zgodnego z prawem i standardami? Jednym z tego powodów, wskazywanych przez niektórych komentatorów, jest obawa biznesu przed kosztowną odpowiedzialnością za złamanie skomplikowanych norm prawnych. Outsourcing monitorowania zgodności staje się jedną z procedur korporacyjnych szacowanych w kategoriach ekonomicznych. Spotyka się jednak sugestie łączenia monitorowania przestrzegania prawnych i etycznych standardów w jednej komórce, co czyni wiele firm, tworząc odrębne departamenty do monitorowania zgodności. W artykule proponuje się zastąpienie terapeutycznego podejścia do kwestii monitorowania zgodności podejściem profilaktycznym opartym na teorii interesariuszy.

The Polish title of the paper is a play on words for ‘consistence’ is the Polish equivalent of the English term of ‘compliance’. It gives an opportunity to identify positive and negative sides of the concept and approach. Is there any sense to coin a new term and procedure for obvious obligation to follow legal norms and standards? There is one reason pointed out by some commentators: businesses are afraid of costly responsibility of breaking legal norms which are complex and complicated. Once outsourcing is the technique corporations like, clever consultant organizations offer among other procedures the ‘compliance’ one, what is quite profitable. There is however, a suggestion to combine assistance to follow legal and ethical standards in one unit, and many companies created relevant departments and officers responsible for the procedure. Dominating approach to the issue is rather therapeutic. To reverse it it is suggested in the paper to introduce a prophylactic approach based on the stakeholder theory.

Ethics is intended to help make decisions. It does this by pointing to theories that provide an argument for the recommended procedure. One can ask whether the maxim of „do unto others as you would have done unto you” refers to any act or is a hypernorm providing guidelines for other decisions. The practice of individual behavior is institutionally nested, as is the status of the norm „do not impose upon the others what is unpleasant to you”, and in addition – with reciprocity, ergo primum non nocere.

Paper refers to the book by John Hendry, a British philosopher connected also to the US Notre Dame University, Between Enterprise and Ethics: Business and Management in a Bimoral Society. The author presents in a persuasive manner axiological context of business behavior characteristic for Western societies. What is stressed in the paper is that it is not a bi-morality but division between praxiological directives upgraded to the level of ethics, mainly utilitarian, and norms ethical sensu stricte. In relation to that it is claimed that contemporary manager should act as a politician and leader rather, than as a technician.

W świecie realnym działalność ta korzysta z komputerów jako narzędzi, w świecie wirtualnym działalność gospodarcza posługuje się internetem jako środkiem komunikowania się. Jak wszelkie działanie człowieka, tak działalność gospodarcza w jej nowych formach ma wymiar moralny, wiedza o którym staje się przedmiotem zainteresowania etyki biznesu. W artykule zarysowano wskazywane w literaturze przedmiotu zagadnienia etyki e-biznesu.

Today, economic activity takes place in both the real world and in the virtual world known as cyber-space. In the real world this activity uses computers as tools, but in the virtual world economic activity uses the Internet as a means of communication. Business performed in the new forms, like any human activity, has a moral dimension the knowledge of which becomes of interest to researchers into business ethics. The article outlines the literature on the subject of ethical issues related to e-business.

The article discusses the issue of the conflict between social roles in the professional activity pursued by so-called liberal professions, especially by researchers. It offers a normative approach to the issue as covered in the Code of Ethics for Research Workers (Kodeks Etyki Pracownika Naukowego) and in the Code of Good Practices in Universities (Dobre Praktyki w Szkołach Wyższych). Emphasis has been placed on the types of conflicts and on their significance to the ethical aspect of professional activity, accompanied by a simultaneous reminder that conflict tends to be a factor contributing to the axiological balance in society and to society’s efficiency.

Artykuł poświęcony jest zagadnieniu konfliktu ról społecznych w działalności zawodowej wykonywanej w tzw. wolnych zawodach, w szczególności przez pracowników naukowych. Omówiono normatywne ujęcie zagadnienia przez kodeksy Pracownika Naukowego i Dobrych Praktyk w Szkołach Wyższych. Zwrócono uwagę na rodzaje konfliktów oraz na ich znaczenie dla etycznego wymiaru aktywności zawodowej i przypomniano, że konflikt bywa czynnikiem zachowania równowagi aksjologicznej w społeczeństwie i jego funkcjonalnej sprawności.
