Globalisation of economy creates not only chances, but also threats to Polish enterprises. Adjusting its strategy to new conditions, an enterprise has to take into account the market, costs, governmental and competition factors. Depending on the conditions, growth or stabilisation strategies are recommended.

W artykule podjęto próbę zidentyfikowania możliwości wykorzystania koncepcji zapewnienia ciągłości działalności w procesie wykorzystania okazji przez przedsiębiorstwo. Opisano rolę okazji w zarządzaniu strategicznym, a następnie scharakteryzowano niepewności i zagrożenia, które mogą ujawnić się podczas wykorzystywania okazji. Podsumowaniem rozważań jest prezentacja procesu planowania zapewnienia ciągłości działalności podczas wykorzystywania okazji przez przedsiębiorstwo.

An attempt was made to identify the possible use of the ensuring the continuity of business concept in the process of use of the occasion by the company. It is described the role of the occasion in the strategic management and then characterised uncertainties and risks which may disclose in during use of the opportunity. A summary of the deliberations is the presentation of the planning process to ensure the continuity of the activities during use of the occasion by the company.

W artykule rozważono możliwości wykorzystania sieci organizacyjnych do wdrażania względnie nowych strategii modularnych, zwiększających możliwości umocnienia konkurencyjności przedsiębiorstw. W tym celu scharakteryzowano zarówno strategie modularne, jak i wybrane rodzaje struktur sieciowych. Stwierdzono, że sieci wokół inicjujących je przedsiębiorstw są skutecznym narzędziem, ułatwiającym wdrożenie wspomnianych strategii. Jednak nie wszystkie typy czy odmiany struktur sieciowych są w jednakowym stopniu przydatne do implementacji strategii modularnych. Możliwe jest jednak zidentyfikowanie wspólnych cech struktur sieciowych, które powodują iż wdrożenie strategii modularnych jest skuteczniejsze. Sieci asymetryczne, które wykorzystują mechanizmy biurokratyczne i interpersonalne są rozwiązaniem ułatwiającym utrzymanie centralnej pozycji przedsiębiorstwa i kontrolę nad siecią. Dowiedziono, że dominującym typem układu sieciowego powinien być układ dostawca - odbiorca, w którym przedsiębiorstwo "centralne" z reguły występuje jako dostawca. Natomiast spośród typów organizacji sieciowych, jako najbardziej sprzyjający wdrażaniu strategii modularnych, wskazano typy "A" i "B".

Relatively new modular strategies increase the possibility of competitive advantage. Network grouping initiated by companies that implement modular strategies seemed to be a very important tool while introducing these strategies. However, not all the types or varieties of those network systems are equally useful, although, it is possible to indicate some common features of network systems which make implementing modular structures much easier. Asymmetrical networks that use bureaucratic and interpersonal mechanisms are the solutions which ensure that the central enterprise keeps its leading position. The system supplier - recipient should be specified as the dominating type of the network system. Here, the central enterprise may appear both as a supplier (more often) and as a recipient. On the other hand, among the types of network organization groups in implementing modular strategies, groups "A" and "B" would be the most useful. The network of companies make it possible to create the architecture that enables flexible reaction, gaining organizational knowledge as well as free information flow. This is how one of the three basic enterprise abilities is improved.
