W artykule sformułowano twierdzenie, że Stary Testament niesie podwójne przesłanie – autorytetu (despotyzmu) i przymierza, z których każde staje się (na skutek wyborów dokonywanych przez jednostki) podstawą odmiennego porządku moralnego, kulturowego i politycznego. W szczególności tożsamość europejska jest rezultatem wyboru między związanym z chrześcijaństwem wyborem autorytetu i związana z tradycją grecką oraz nowożytną walką o demokrację i wolność, wyborem przymierza, zwanego we współczesnej myśli politycznej umową społeczną.

Artykuł poświęcony jest kwestii pochodzenia wartości podstawowych, w tym wartości konstytucyjnych, i wykazaniu, że w konstytucji 1997 r. mamy do czynienia z niezgodnością między zasadniczym tekstem konstytucji, który (z wyjątkiem art. 25) odwołuje się do standardowego zestawu wartości konstytucyjnych (suwerenność narodu, trójpodział władz itd.), a tekstem preambuły, która prezentuje zasadniczo autorytarną listę podstawowych zasad i wartości. Autor zwraca przy okazji uwagę, że oficjalne tłumaczenie na język angielski łagodzi nieco (wbrew polskojęzycznemu oryginałowi) autorytarną wymowę tekstu preambuły, fałszując tym samym tekst konstytucji.

W artykule podjęto próbę ukazania immanentnej dwoistości bytu w świetle niektórych mitów wybranych kultur świata, w szczególności mitów mezopotamskich, irańskich, żydowskich i prekolumbijskich, w tym zwłaszcza poprzez analizę Księgi Rodzaju Starego Testamentu i Popol Vuh. Księgi rady narodu Quiche oraz w świetle autorskiej koncepcji dialektycznej metafizyki wyboru, a także – próbę wydobycia heurystycznego potencjału tkwiącego w specyficznych „dualizmach” mitu i metafizyki dla definiowania kultury. Ukazano status religii jako archetypicznej autorytarnej ideologii hierarchii; podobnie archetypiczna jest przeciwstawna jej ideologia umowy społecznej („przymierza”).

The author states the immanent duality of being after some myths of selected world's cultures, especially Mesopotamians, Iranians, Jewish and Pre- Columbian (including analysis of The Book of Genesis of The Old Testament and The Popol Vuh. The Book of The Council of The Quiche People) and makes that on the ground of his own concept of the dialectical metaphysics of choice. The author underlines the heuristic possibilities of the specific “dualities” of the myth and metaphysics for the understanding of culture and describes the status of religion as an archetypical authoritarian ideology of hierarchy, as well as likewise archetypical one of the social agreement.

The paper presents the original concept of metaphysics, founded on the idea of double being, consisting of 'me' and 'not-me' separating of each other and suffering this process of separation ('metaphysical experience') and choosing the way of treating themselves and each other ('metaphysical choice'); in the article, is also discussed the biblical message, containing the 'universal pattern of culture' (the principle of domination and obedience and the principle of mutual acceptance of the equal competence in 'good and evil knowledge', and the choice between them); the author proposes also the special understanding of 'transcendence', different from the religious one, and shows the connections between the values created in the mode of metaphysical choice and the general cultural orders. One of the main claims of the text is that atheism enables to conquer the crisis of metaphysics.

In this paper we would like to present a certain philosophical concept, which may be related to some contemporary philosophical controversies (and to political philosophy’ controversies included) concentrated around such problems as, the meaning of metaphysics and as the understanding of freedom. We are going also to say a word about the particularity of the philosophical understanding of reality, including the status of intention for agreement. The concept we present further for additional foundation of the Habermas’ idea of communicative action is a compound of metaphysics itself, and of our own concept of metaphysics, and of the two particular questions – interpretation of Plato’s philosophy as well as interpretation of the Biblical message about anthropogenesis.
