Suggestions are given in relation to the structure improvement and process of the investment activity planning in banks, and also to the working out the proper planned documents – investment plan and investment budget of bank. The necessity of the planning of investment activity as a component of investment management of the bank, instruments of management of assets and liabilities, preparation of administrative information for acceptance by the bank management as the basis of rational investment decisions has been proved. This author's scheme has been represented in relation to the sequence of realization of the process of bank investment activity planning, starting from implementation of bank's strategic aims and tasks as well as from determination of the volume and quality of investment resources.
