The text discusses the functioning of masculinity models in modern western culture. There were also presented research findings related to the two issues: (1) What image of a boy and a man do the selected sexuality education textbooks present? What and how is said about a boy/man in selected sexuality education textbooks? (2) What model of masculinity is presented in selected sexuality education textbooks? There were used qualitative content analysis strategies in the analysis of existing data. The analysis of information transfer related to the masculinity referred to the concept of socialisation models (traditional, mixed, egalitarian). The language analysis was focused on the symbolic assigning to the gender relevant attributes and permanent, unchangeable predispositions. The research was designed in the gender perspective and the gender category was the primary analysis criterion. There were analysed seven textbooks and exercise books for the subject "Education for family life" for primary and secondary school levels. The research implementation and analysis of research material took place in the period from October 2013 to October 2014. The books analysed here present a model of masculinity close to the traditional pattern in which men and women have clearly defined biological predisposition. From the gender perspective there are underrepresented alternatives to the family life traditionally perceived in our culture and the presence of sexual minorities in the social sphere.

Introduction. The issues of human sexuality are an extremely important area of educational activity and the needs in the field of sexual education seem to be currently beyond discussion. This obvious need for education results from a number of contemporary social phenomena, including the transformation of modern human communities into information societies. It manifests in immediate and unlimited access to many sources of knowledge, with the simultaneous problem of verifying their quality and truthfulness, as well as in a high risk of encountering harmful and dangerous content. The phenomenon of sexualisation of children, understood as attributing to them features of sexually attractive and mature people, while reducing the value of a person only to their physical characteristics and appearance, is also significant. At the same time, two highly polarized and mutually exclusive discourses on sexuality education (conservative and liberal ones) are present in the public sphere. The dispute in this context mainly concerns the needs, aims, assumptions, influence, forms, and content of people educating in the field of sexuality. And the discussion itself has a strongly politicized and ideological character. Aim. The purpose of this article is to present the theoretical aspects of sexuality education. Various definitions and relations between sexuality education and upbringing, types of education, and their effectiveness will be presented, as well as the history of the subject implementation to Polish schools. The most important features of effective and professional sexuality education and the tasks of the family in this regard will also be indicated. Materials and methods. National and international documents, literature on the subject. Content analysis.

Wprowadzenie. Materiały i metody. Dokumenty krajowe i międzynarodowe, literatura przedmiotu. Analiza treści.

The article is focused on the most common stereotypes existing in social perception of women providing sexual services. The presented research findings are related to two detailed problems: (1) How women offering sexual services are perceived in virtual space, which creates the possibility of complete anonymity of speech? (2) What are the stereotypes about sex workers presented on Internet forums on prostitution? An analysis of 20 online forums including 2,403 posts in which prostitution is the main subject defining a framework for discussion was carried out, using qualitative analysis strategies. The selection of online forums was made on the basis of the web engine search results for two questions: “What do you think about prostitution?”, “What do you think about women prostitutes?”. The research implementation and analysis took place in September to October 2013. The stereotypes about female sex workers appearing on the Internet forums were grouped into certain categories, having the ordering character. These are the stereotypes perceived in the context of the causes of prostitution (indicating a certain personality, environmental or cultural factors), the characteristics of female sex workers (mostly negative, demonstrating definite character traits) and the specificity of their working conditions.
