Nowa ewangelizacja Kościoła i świata nie jest możliwa bez apostolskiego zaangażowania katolików świeckich świadomych swojej misji. Obowiązkiem całego Kościoła jest uświadomienie wszystkim prawdy o godności małżeństwa i rodziny jako powołania Bożego, poprzez promocję „Ewangelii rodziny”. W sposób szczególny wezwanie do ewangelizacyjnej aktywności świeckich skierowane jest do rodzin, gdyż rodzina, żyjąc w świętości, dostępuje sama zbawienia, ale poprzez świadectwo wobec świata staje się wspólnotą zbawiającą. Świadectwem jest tworzenie wyjątkowych wspólnot – „communio personarum”. Odpowiedzialność małżonków i rodzin wyraża się służbą życiu, poprzez zrodzenie i wychowanie dzieci. Misją ewangelizacyjną rodziny jest twórczy udział we wspólnocie eklezjalnej i społecznej.

The call to new evangelization characteristic of the pontificate of St John Paul II most fully expresses the essence of the mission of the Church. As the teachings of the recent Popes point out, Christian family has a special place in this mission. The evangelising mission of the family is creative participation in ecclesiastic and social community. A family, by living in holiness, gains its own salvation, but by bearing witness before the world becomes a saving community. Bearing witness is creating extraordinary communities: “communio personarum”. The responsibility of spouses and families is expressed in the service to life, by bearing and educating children. Thus family, as the first and vital cell of society, fulfills its mission towards the citizens, being the school of the most important social virtues. A duty of the whole Church is to make everybody aware of the truth about the dignity of marriage and family as a God's calling, through promoting “The Gospel of the Family”.
