This article focuses on the development of theoretical and methodological approaches to improve mechanisms for evaluating the level of innovation potential. This paper analyzes the essence of innovative capacity and improved structural model determining components of innovation potential, a system of indicators to measure innovation potential, which, along with quantifiable performance indicators included in the qualitative assessment of the region as well as methodological approaches to multi-level integrated assessment of regional innovation potential that in contrast to the existing methods takes into account the use of information and communication technologies, sustainable development indices and quality of life, and intangible assets of enterprises. Implemented direct assessment of the level of development of innovative potential of regions of the North-East economic region, in particular Sumy, Poltava and Kharkiv regions, on the basis of statistical data of enterprises engaged in innovation activities. Presented in the theoretical and methodological provisions, conclusions and recommendations can be applied in the development of programs of socio-economic development of regions.

The article investigates cost-based approach for assessing the level of competitiveness of the enterprise incorporating specificity of engineering industry. The article highlights its advantages. A group of enterprises that produce compressor equipment for which the evaluation takes place was selected. The groups of indicators for financial and economic activity of the enterprise for assessment industry competitiveness are presented. Regression analysis allows selecting the group of certain indicators that are most relevant to the competitiveness of enterprises. In order to determine the competitiveness and opportunities for the development of PJSC “SPJSCSII Kompressormash” competitors’ cash flow and its components are estimated. The analysis helped to make a conclusion about the assessment of the competitiveness of PJSC “SPJSCSII Kompressormash” among the producers of compressor equipment and to identify opportunities for further development of the company.

Activity of socio-economic system is performed in the context of interrelated processes, which usually have variability. Determining the direction, criteria and results of development is possible if socio-economic system operates stably with deviations caused by chance reasons. Therefore, reducing the variability of the socio-economic system by increasing stability is the condition for its development. It is suggested to increase stability based on make decisions concerning social and economic components of socio-economic system applying system and logical approach, structural and functional approach, synthesis and analysis methods. Social component of socio-economic system stability lies in its ability to react adaptively to new social needs without changes of current level of economic balance. Economic component of socio-economic system stability consists in ability to improve or maintain current level of economic efficiency.

This paper investigates the economic efficiency of investment activity in agricultural enterprises. It is also analyzed the main factors that hinder investment in agriculture in Ukraine. This paper analyzes the economic efficiency of the investment project of drip irrigation. Specific attention is paid to the comparative analysis of the crops growing efficiency in Ukraine and developed countries. It is considered the promising areas of investment in agriculture in economic instability and environmental fluctuations conditions. The most urgent investment directions are: development of selected breeding programs, breeding adapted plants, combating pests and diseases of crops and livestock, organic agriculture.
