Obecny świat to świat zmiany i przyspieszeń, a także turbulencji i niespodzianek. Rozpoznanie tych procesów i zjawisk jest ważne nie tylko z poznawczego punktu widzenia. Rozważania na temat przyszłości wyłaniających się obecnie społeczeństw informacyjnych powinny obejmować m.in. wiele kontekstualnych narracji wraz z ich relacjami, interakcjami, sprzężeniami. W artykule pokazano przydatność narracji dotyczących nauki i techniki (ich rozwoju, zastosowań, efektów i skutków), modernizacji i jej procesów, globalizacji, zróżnicowania generacyjnego i kulturowego, władzy i polityki, demokracji jako ważnego mechanizmu ładotwórczego. Narracje te jednocześnie tworzą kontekst dla predykcji i futurologicznych refleksji na temat zmian społecznych.

The present world is a world of change and acceleration, as well as turbulence and surprises. The recognition of these processes and phenomena is important not only from the cognitive point of view. Reflections on the future of the emerging information societies today should include, among others many contextual narratives together with their relationships, interactions, feedback loops. The articledemonstrates the usefulness of narrative on science and technology (the development, applications, effects and impacts), of the processes of modernization and globalization, generational and cultural diversity, power and politics, democracy as an important order mechanism These narratives at the same time form the context for the prediction and futurological reflections on social change.
