The awareness of employees in relation to organizational culture existing in a company and their knowledge in this subject - have a crucial meaning. In the face of intensity of transformations, constant searching for the best solutions which bring the organization closer to success seams necessary. The organizational culture can help employees among others to: engage in performance of tasks. Organizational culture helps to understand mission, strategy of the organization and assumptions carried out by it. The purpose of this paper is the description of different aspects of organizational culture with reference to actions taken in the scope of management of human resources. The nature of leadership was also stressed in shaping the organizational culture. The analysis of literature in the field of management, own experience and observation of the author in the above mentioned matter made it possible to respond to the research problem presented in this paper.

Aim of the research. The aim of the research was to check if and how codified norms are used in practice. It was examined whether respondents are able to assess the correctness of a sentence properly and to correct noticed mistakes. The research also analysed if respondents can make syntactic transformations based on the hypothesis that structures with participle clause may be applied in certain cases. Methodology. The findings of the research were obtained due to the questionnaire surveys, which were conducted among 200 students of the Lublin universities in the last quarter of 2015 . In order to measure the extent to which the chosen educational profile has impact on the level of acquired knowledge as well as of possessed language skills, both, students of humanities as well as technical subjects were examined. Results. The exercises which checked the command of rules concerning the usage of participle clauses, indicated that the above structure is becoming less and less popular in students’ language. It can be observed that the most important rules of applying participle clauses (a rule of the subject’s identity and a rule of the sequence of tenses) are known and respected by the majority of respondents (regardless of their educational profile). However, following more specific rules emerged to be very difficult for many of them. Conclusions. According to the findings of the research, the command of rules regarding the usage of participle clauses has been decreasing. To my mind, it is possible to alter this phenomenon for the better, nevertheless, university authorities would have to undertake appropriate operations to that end. Undoubtedly, linguistic classes should be implemented into curriculum, not only of the Polish philology, but also of science and technical subjects.

Cel badań. Celem badania było sprawdzenie, czy i w jaki sposób normy skodyfikowane są realizowane w praktyce językowej - sprawdzano, czy respondenci potrafią prawidłowo ocenić poprawność zdania i poprawić zauważone błędy, a także czy są w stanie dokonać transformacji składniowych, podstawę których stanowiła hipoteza badawcza zakładająca, że w niektórych przypadkach mogą zostać użyte konstrukcje z imiesłowowym równoważnikiem zdania. Metodologia. Wyniki uzyskano dzięki badaniom ankietowym, przeprowadzonym w ostatnim kwartale 2015 roku w dwustuosobowej grupie lubelskich studentów. W celu zdiagnozowania wpływu profilu kształcenia na poziom wiedzy i umiejętności językowych przebadano studentów zarówno kierunków humanistycznych, jak i kierunków technicznych. Wyniki. Zadania, które sprawdzały znajomość zasad użycia imiesłowowego równoważnika zdania, pokazują, iż jest to konstrukcja coraz mniej popularna w języku studentów. Można dostrzec, że najważniejsze zasady użycia imiesłowowego równoważnika (zasada tożsamości podmiotu i następstwa czasu) są znane i respektowane przez większość ankietowanych (niezależnie od profilu kształcenia). Jednak przestrzeganie bardziej szczegółowych reguł często sprawiało badanym trudności. Wnioski. Wyniki ankiety wskazują na coraz mniejszą znajomość norm w zakresie użycia imiesłowowych równoważników zdania. W mojej ocenie możliwe jest zahamowanie tych zjawisk, jednak wymaga to podjęcia odpowiednich kroków ze strony władz uniwersyteckich. Niewątpliwie zajęcia z zakresu kultury języka powinny zostać wpisane na stałe do programu studiów, nie tylko polonistycznych.

Certain regions or countries attract and succeed in retaining the existing demographic potential. Others undergo stagnation or even regress, which in extreme situations can lead to depopulation. This issue is important, as it is the inhabitants of given territories that initiate and create certain activities, values and changes in their environment. Today, attracting, retaining, developing and maintaining employees present a particularly difficult challenge, with migrations making it even more difficult. The paper addresses the issues of selected aspects of the development of human capital in the face of foreign migrations with Poland as an example. Human capital is shaped by multiple factors. Itis a complex process. The aim of this paper is to show the effects of foreign migrations in the practice of human resource management. On the one hand, management theoreticians and practitioners emphasize an increasing importance in the use of human capital; on the other hand, its waste can be seen in many situations.
