Do zainteresowań autora niniejszego artykułu (od 1971 roku) należy historia, nauka i położenie prawne Kościołów Starokatolickich Unii Utrechckiej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem Polskiego Narodowego Kościoła Katolickiego (PNKK) w USA i Kanadzie oraz Kościoła Polskokatolickiego w Polsce. Publikacja przedstawia wzajemne relacje między PNKK w USA i Kanadzie a Kościołem Polskokatolickim oraz miejsce tegoż Kościoła w Unii Utrechckiej. Autor zwrócił szczególną uwagę na wpływ pierwszego biskupa PNKK Leona Grochowskiego na dzieje Kościoła Polskokatolickiego w Polsce, zwłaszcza na przebieg obrad V Synodu Ogólnopolskiego i wybór biskupów.

The History, the teaching and legal status of Old Catholic churches belonging to the Union of Utrecht has been the subject of research of the author of this article since 1971.n Since then the author has also put particular emphasis on the history of the Polish National Catholic Church in the U.S.A. and Canada and also on the Polish Catholic Church in Poland. This publication presents mutual relations between the Polish Catholic Churches in the U.S.A. and Canada and the Polish Catholic Church in Poland and also the position of the latter one in the Union of Utrecht. The author focuses particular attention on the influence of the first bishop Leon Grochowski on the history of the Polish Catholic Church in Poland, especially on the course of the session of the 5th all-Poland Synod and election of bishops.

The aim of the paper is a critical textual analysis of Evangelists’ lives (since the year 1657) in Early Cyrillic Printed Liturgical Tetraevangelions. On the basis of small number of textual variants confirmed in these very short texts, all of the 95 researched Slavonic Tetraevangelions were divided into several groups with accordance to the editorial activity carried out in printing houses in Moscow in the second half of the 17th c. and in Kiev in 1697 and 1746. The authorship of the Evangelists’ short lives ascribed to Sophornios, encompassing not only the Slavonic but also Early Greek Printed Tetraevangelions, has also been discussed in this publication.
